It may not be well known, but no matter how many times the votes were counted, no matter by whom, Bush still won. Like him or not, the electoral college put him in office. - Aug 25 2004

It's them darn white people's fault. They are offensive by nature. I mean, hitler was white, Valdimir Lenin was white, the emperors of Rome were white, the pope is white ... and so it goes. Of course, if we exclude blanket statements, where does this arguement stand? - Jun 24 2004

This is, by far, the funniest thing I have seen on this site. Not so much the wallpaper, but the comments are hilarious. I read them all and almost fell out of my chair. Ever thought of posting this on other sites for the sheer entertainment value? - Dec 15 2003

The color selection is much better as is the choice of word color/contrast.

Try smoothing the background to reduce its business. Not that that is better, but perhaps it will give you an idea of where to go next. - Dec 03 2003

If it was a wee bit darker or perhaps the edges shadowed, it would look better. That shade of red is just disturbing to the eye.

Besides that, those are ALOT of words. The coloring is ok, but the clash with the background needs just a little adjusting.

Poor Mister Lenon though, he must have either gone mad when he wrote that, or perhaps he wasn't living on earth at the time. I doubt that The earth will ever "live as one", although it is a lofty goal for a life. - Dec 02 2003

I can appreciate the rather intriguing set of questions posed on the Athiest "Free Thinker" site. These people are free thinking, but obviously not well informed with their medeval style conclusions and blatently ignorant statements. They sound convincing to someone with no scientific background, but a little study reveals that these general and confused statements come from common and confused people.

By the way, I do not understand the picture in this wall paper at all. I think I know what it is trying to do, but the beams make the paper a bit too busy to use as an actual desktop background, and I am still trying to figure out what that brown thing is.

But as I always say, "to be a good artist you must make 1000 mistakes" ...well...begin. - Dec 02 2003

It is called bliss.
It is stolen from Windows XP.
It, and the rest of the artwork from XP, has been stolen so many times on this site I have lost count.

This is only fair, since, it isn't Windows anymore...M$ 2003 raped this site for their artwork.

This artwork reflects the maturing of your artwork. It is a good sign to see a better use of shape and shadow and color and space. - Nov 09 2003

Hey man,
Aren't the trumpets a bit distracting at that size for use as a desktop wallpaper? Maybe it is the contrast. It is an excellent picture. It's use as a wallpaper...let me check it out. - Oct 31 2003

Obviously the sarcasm was well over your head. I, of course have no hatred of Jews, Romans (italians), or any other ethnic group (that much would be obvious from the company I keep if you could see them). I, myself, am Puerto Rican, and not some anglo, racist religious fanatic (as you seem to assume). My point was made in the last paragraph. I apologise for going over your head, and will endevor in the future not to do so in the future. - Oct 17 2003

Friedrich Nietzsche, that damn JEW!!! How about them wicked Romans: wiping out whole civilations at a time. And those ancient Chinese and Japanese, buring people alive, fighting wars over sheer pride and salughtering villages on a whim (and without even a trial).

Perhaps we should attempt to seperate the Catholic church empire and ancient supersticions from the people as a whole. Southerner's in America owned slaves and treated them visciously for nearly 400 years. Shall we now hate all southerners forever...or did they change? Perhaps the people who did those thigs are all dead and gone and their empires and supersticions with them.

And we should move on...and perhaps, like in a musuem or on TV;if you don't like what's there...move on to the next one.

Good idea, let's rid ourselves of these Christian bigots! Those Linux bikini chicks, I can't stand those either! Give em the boot! As a matter of fact, what are photo's of people's girlfriends or backyards doing here? Let's make it simple: Either a gear or a "KDE" is OK, otherwise, GET IT OFF THIS SITE. Well, I understand their intolerance and have seen it in many ways. They constsntly harass people who post art they disagree with here, then bombard their beliefs. Then they tell them to leave. I can't stand them. Who can bear such intolerance? Not me, that's for sure. - Oct 16 2003

Don't worry man, same happens to me. 42% and 3 downloads. There are, I think, career voters on this site, who just vote everything bad because they are little kids. The artwork is good, although I don't know what it says...what does it say? - Oct 01 2003

Not to disagree, but I don't think a religious message would get the same responce from the average person as a picture of nude men (nor when used as a desktop in the workplace). - Sep 23 2003

You are a beginning artist, and some of your work lacks the structure of functional art (like KDE-Look people are expecting). The maze? I am uncertain what the purpose of that is (plus the colors clash). The firdt one ins't too bad (low color spread, single subject left to right, top to bottom) but the second one makes a common mistake called stacking. This is when you keep adding stuff until the pieces begin to clash. Less is more in art. Keep trying, although let me make this suggestion: Use the desktop for yourself for a day and see how it fits. Then you can change it (keep the xcf file) to make it more pleasant. - Sep 16 2003

The western eye travels from left to right and up to down. Perhaps the wallpaper should, in my opinion, have a left to right movement or up to down (i.e. draw an imaginary line from one pic to the next. Is is straight?) Of course there can be more than one line of vision in a pic, but one line is easiest. - Sep 16 2003

I like the look. It does resemble the one I made, but it is indeed an excellent start. You are heading in the right direction. White text would work well here. Try a green theme, or a orange theme or something. Try something different and your skills will grow. - Sep 15 2003

Wallpapers KDE Plasma by svrki 1 comment

The Bright color in the middle combined with the chaos of colors (i.e. too many bright colors) makes this wallpaper confusing to the eye. It has no "theme".
Perhaps a themed wallpaper would help, say like "metal", "groovy", "green ice tux" or something like that. It would help produce a work that makes sence and isn't so confusing to the eye. Remember the eye moves left to right (in western nations) and so try and make the theme accordingly. Good luck. - Sep 07 2003
