I'm hoping you're joking, because if you're expecting every person who posts a karamba theme here to include graphics from several or a majority of distros then you'll need to be asking this of everyone else.

I'm sure that if you've been able to install the favorite distro of your choice, then you ought to be able to accomplish changing the graphic to match your desktop. - May 22 2007

I downloaded the rpm from the KBFX website and installed using Kpackage. So far it seems to be working just fine, although I have to say that I use the Kmenu layout instead of the KBFX one. I really wish there was a way to just change the Kmenu button parameters without installing KBFX. (yes I realize I can change the button look, but it does't work if I want a button that isn't square-ish) - Apr 09 2007
the kbfx button shown in top of the 3rd screenshot was made by me, however there isn't anything listed here or in the download that gives me credit...

This is truly incredible work! It's rare that an artist goes to this extent to fully theme the desktop. I'm inspired to make further modifications to the theme set I'm currently working on.

Thank you for creating this theme and I certainly look forward to seeing more of your work. - Apr 03 2007

permission is granted and I apologize that my comments earlier came across as gruff. Lately the language and details surrounding licenses has become a serious subject. I am also putting together an icon set (because like you, I think most of the sets provided here leave alot to be desired.).

I didn't take offense, and you're right it isn't about the fame, I just wanted to make you aware that artists, especially those within the Linux community, create their work because they love Linux and not to make a quick dollar. So acknowleging their work when used is the 'payment' or recognition.

Keep up the great work you've put forth in putting these sets together, I know that many here appreciate your efforts.

gryphen - Apr 03 2007
actually, correction - it's not so much the permission part as it is the fact that there is nothing in your project description and NO 'readme' or 'notes' in the download that gives attribution or permission from or to any artist, not even yourself.

you might want to at least give that back to the original artists, it's not about fame, it's more about common courtesy. - Apr 02 2007

That's not an answer to my question. Show an example via screenshot of what you believe is an optimal window management setup. - Apr 01 2007
Okay, then give us an example of just what you're referring to. I know that I'm really tired of all the whining about copying. If you're using KDE then let's be honest, it's really modeled after MS Windows desktop environment. Sure there are many improvements and the ability to configure to your own specifications is considerably easier, but the basic model is still there.

Gnome is alot like Mac. So other than fluxbox, Window Maker, and Symphony, what other 'innovative' desktop experience are you trumping?

Excellent work! Thank you for taking the time to create not only a visually stunning desktop, but for also 'putting your money where you mouth is' so to speak. As much as everyone whines about copying another desktop, few have stepped up to the plate to create something different.

I'm very excited to see how this turns out. - Mar 18 2007

To be blunt - I'm flattered that you've created some icons that resemble what I've already started with Glascons, but I'm also kinda wondering why you didn't maybe send me an e-mail or message about working together on these. It seems silly to me to have two different sets as well as duplicates - meaning I've already posted icons that you've included in yours....
