I really like this usplash, but I have tried every single resolution option in startup-manager. All with the same results, the image is to off center to the left side of the screen. I first tried my screen resolution of 1280 x 1024...nothing is working!

Any advice how to fix the resolution?? - Jun 24 2009

I`m sorry to sound critical, but it kind of looks like an ash tray for cigarettes.
I respect the high quality drawing you did...but that just came to my mind. Ok, I`ll leave now...still good job - Jun 16 2009

Yes you are right. Is like we all had similar ideas, and drew them out a little differently.

Well, actually you can do it yourself...check out google, or even youtube...they have videos and tutorials on making simple wallpapers in gimp. From there, just experiment with gimp see what comes out!! - Jun 15 2009

I extracted the 2.26.2 file, copy the patch tar file in the gnome-panel-2.26 folder...then configure...when I try to `make` gives this error
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
What did I do wrong??

Wow! That was quick!! THanks! That really did it! Now I can limit how many screenlets are on the screen.

That gives me an idea for this project. If you could implement the clear calendar as an option. Because I use that calendar in the empty space with the dark theme ( really just white text, no background) so it fits perfect. So if it`s part of this applet, people would only need ONE applet to get all their basic info on their desktop! ;) - May 28 2009

every time I log in, restart, or even unlock my screen from the screensaver...the settings goes back to default. I`m tired of having to write and check/uncheck many settings over and over. Please any help! I really like the update from the last sysmonitor. But because of this on going problem, I was forced to use the original sysmonitor :( No weather applet! - May 28 2009

Never mind!! I got it to work!
After a lot of trial and error, I noticed something different about this file name from the other usplash.so files...They didn't have any spaces between the words on the title.
So I took out the long numbers and put this "_" between the words on the title so it looks like this "Simpleline_for_Intrepid.so" Then it worked fine under startup manager!

ps. By the way great job. I really go for the simple style! Thanks!! Anybody knows where I can get a good tutorial how to make this...you really inspired me to want to give it a try. - Dec 28 2008

I tried all the links provided, but they all take me to a german site (I guess is german)...it's blank, one pop up commercial comes up, and I found this words at the bottom of the link...

bplaced.net Zugriff verweigert, Fehler 403. Sorry, access forbidden, error 403. - Impressum

I don't know what the german words mean, but I understand "access forbidden, error..."

Can someone help me out! - Dec 28 2008
