Flash in splash screen

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by Belfegor 6 comments

I too would like to see an animated alternative to the box & statusbar convention.

There are apparently a few good projects that will let you make flash content from linux, one of which is "Flash4Linux" which has an IDE that looks like Macromedia's Flash Studio.

This is a good idea. You might want to repost this idea to the KDE4 brainstorm section titled "Flash support for Ksplash". At the most basic level someone can make a ksplash engine that you can plug flash load-screens into.

It might also be cool to go the extra mile and allow Flash KDM login screens.

I wonder if there are any Vector Animation Markup Languages out there. A markup file similar to an XML document would be a neat way for people with no IDE experience to customize their own animations.. - Jul 09 2006

This is a very very smooth and clean icon set. The colors go well given their context (green play button, etc) Cant wait for release 2! - Jun 05 2006

Various KDE 1.-4. Styles by gstnet 11 comments

i'd say only a small percentage of people who claim to be christians actually are christians. i dont see the big deal in someone saying "jesus loves you". sure, alot of "christians" cram beliefs down other people's throats, but the real christians know that that's a bunch of malarky and that theyre not supposed to be the ones passing judgment or twisting up gospel as scare tactics. "jesus loves you." "buddha loves you." "allah loves you"-- it's really the same message unless noted otherwise. saying "jesus loves you" is much different than saying "jesus loves you...... unless youre gay or a black person.", at least to those who can tell the difference between a true christian and someone who needs to hide their closed minded views behind an ideology.

personally, i'm agnostic. to me, jesus was a buddhist, and buddhists are christians, and norse mythology is just as interesting as the east asian religions. i guess what i'm saying is that i'm not taking any one particular side, i'm just sayin be a little more wise and try not to cast guilt upon people just because of association, because in the end, good people are good people, and bad people are bad people.

and yes, jesus loves you.

btw this icon is awesome. i'm using it right now. - Aug 06 2005
