4. Click install (does not matter which one)
5.your menu should be installed Just select it from with in preferences and reload if asked too.

NO, they will be disabled. The only real work around to this that ive found is to keep gnome as your panel system and remove one gnome panel completely. then make the other one have no icons on it at all then auto hide it. - Mar 27 2011
Bionic Conky

Conky by mucas 7 comments

I need to run this as root (unless you know a better way) to display my wifi connection.

I'm running a broadcom wifi card, I already changed wlan0 to eth1. But it will not display unless I run Conky as root.

How would I apply root privileges to a start up process and not need a password?

any ideas? - Mar 03 2011

You need to be using an older GDM version to use any GDM theme really. Not sure how to convert back to an old version or if it is even a god idea? - Nov 07 2010
The Ultimate Bashrc File

Thanks for the info!

I will definitely have to play around with it. A defrag on Linux is just foreign to me. Your whole bashrc = a week of fun times and exploration. :-)

Thanks for uploading it.

really nice work, I love it.

Quick question though. Have you ran in to any problems involving the defrag script you have with in the bashrc? I have never herd of a de-frager for any Linux based system. - Nov 01 2010

I completely agree with you. I also do not see the problem posting Ubuntu Items on gnome-look though. As long as the Item posted is Gnome depending. Same for any other Distro. At least his Licence is GPL as well, so your free to change as long as you share :-) - Sep 30 2010

Perfect Macdock Awn theme

AWN Themes by lagooned 2 comments

I am unable to. I have tried extraction, saving to downloads. It will not do anything or says its an invalid them? - Sep 27 2010
I downloaded and extracted to desktop. Then went to my dock preference and tried to install. No dice, dose not even show up after hitting the open button.

I then re-compressed it since that some times works. Went to install and it said it was an invalid them?

Am I doing something wrong here? - Sep 27 2010

Haha, I actually modified mine to use AwOken Icons. It looks nice.

Link: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=132501

Image to shows The Icon Menu 2 using the AwOken Icons. It is using the gtk them option hence the dark blue background.

No dice for me, Thanks for trying to fix the problem last night. I just uninstalled and reinstalled via your supplied Debi package.

Ran from terminal and my results are posted below.

It seems I am getting the same problem with in Lucid. Starts up and works fine for about 10 seconds. Then a hard freeze requiring a force quit.

Hope it gets fixed soon. Seems like a very useful program. - Sep 25 2010
Great! I'm glad it is working out for you. - Sep 25 2010
Oh yeah, I gave 10.10 a try about a week ago in my VirtualBox and it was not up to par yet to make the jump. I'm waiting for full release off it. That could definitely be the cause of your problem. Can't say for sure though.

Thanks for the vote! - Sep 16 2010
Hmm, I'm not sure since this has never happened to me?

I completely removed my gnome panels though. If you didn't then there may be conflict between the gnome and awn dock.

Step 4 in link 1 shows how to remove the gnome panels. - Sep 16 2010
Sorry, can not believe I forgot to link that!

Its up there now. Thanks for pointing it out. - Sep 14 2010
If you decide to use the gnomenu in AWN you will be stuck with a gold foot as your main launch Icon.

other people have already reported this as a bug to both AWN and gnomenu.

for the time being there is a fix.

first find or make an image that you want to use. save it as both logo.png and logo.svg.

note: gimp is great for saving the .png Inkscape is good for the .svg

Now (as root) go to: File System/usr/lib/gnomenu/graphics.

replace logo.png/.svg in that folder with your current icons/images.

now right click on your golden foot, select preferences. your gnomenu options will open up. press OK and reload everything. if you get an sad box just click on it and your image will show up.

if your are a file jumper Vs. a terminal junky. Then make sure to open a terminal and type: sudo nautilus

this will open your files as root and allow you to change permissions. Just assign the owner to you. Then you can modify whatever. *Warning* becareful when doing this with other files.

Slickness Black

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 231 comments

All you should have to do now. If you are running lucid is to extract to desktop. --> right click on desk top. --> click on change desktop background --> choose themes (top left button). Then click and drag your slickness them in to the themes. It should install its self.

It will recommend new icons. Use the recommended or your own. To get new icons do the exact same thing for the theme. (extract to desk top, open themes menu, drag and drop)

Hope this helps :-) - Aug 13 2010
