What font are you using in the screenshots? I've seen it around, but haven't been able to find the name. - May 15 2006

I think this is the *coolest* icon set out there right now. Nice to see something good that diverges from the boring KDE "crystal" look.

Keep up the good work! - Jan 07 2006

Qt is 3.3.4. I don't believe that I've got the KDE dev packages installed -- I'm running SLAX which is a live version of Slackware. Most uneccessary stuff has been stripped out. - Sep 26 2005

hmmmm...interesting.

Your configure option gave some new insight. Now it gives the error:

checking if UIC has KDE plugins available... no
configure: error: you need to install kdelibs first.

I have all the proper KDE libs installed. I've googled this specific error and it seems that it is *very* common when compiling KDE apps. Unfortunately, no one seemed to have a viable solution.

Any insight here? - Sep 23 2005

I *still* can't get this to work. Compiles & installs with no errors, but then nothing on right-click on the sidebar.

Any help? - Sep 22 2005

okay I found the old comments on this...must have not compiled correctly because I don't see it as an option when right-clicking. Any ideas? I didn't get any errors when compiling, so I just assumed it went okay...but no option to add it... - Sep 10 2005

Any chance you could make a plastic theme with these icons for Firefox under KDE? That'd be fantastic! - Aug 30 2005

How about a plastik Firefox theme with the best KDE icons of all...nuoveXT? I'm not really into these other icon types, crystal, etc. - Aug 29 2005

Various Stuff by moodwrod 24 comments

I'm a bit new to KDE, and I've got a few questions on how to get my setup as slick-looking as the screenshot.

I tried setting the included .png as the background, but there were still a lot of horrid button/minimized window backgrounds. How do I get rid of these? How did you remove the border from the minimized window buttons on the panel?

Also, do you have a corresponding theme that goes well with this?

Thanks in advance,

Hallelujah! Ugly icons are almost gone from my entire system!

-Evolution toolbar icons
-finish off Synaptec toolbar icons
-Office app icons (AbiWord, Gnumeric, etc.)

Thanks for the hard work! - Aug 08 2005

I used sudo gnome-theme-manager to update my root apps (like Synaptec) to version 1.4 and now it's not using any of the nuoveXT icons, just the stock system icons...anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks,

Speaking of old favroites...I really liked the old Nav buttons...I understand that some people complained that up and forward (or whatever it was) were too similar, but I really liked them and thought they had a more original look. Any chance they might make a comeback? - Aug 07 2005

I think this is bar none the best icon set availble for GNOME -- in fact, I think it should be the default one. It's very professional and modern and still not over-the-top.

That said, I think some of the names might be incorrect; for instance in Nautilus, my "up" icon was properly replaced, but the back and forward icons are still the old ones. Any chance this could be fixed?

Thanks and keep up the great work...
