Plasma Color Schemes by IamJustUs 2 comments

The contrast between highlighted and unhighlighted elements in a window list was too great, so I changed Alternate Background and Window Background to #D4D4A3, and was happier.

To avoid confusion, I call the modified version "Soft Sage".

I completely agree with you. I wonder how "in-touch" the KDE chieftains are, to have violated the core of the Paul Masson Principle of Software Development ("We shall release no software before its time.")

KDE/4.x is not ready for release

1. It looks like a "Barney" GUI; it's bumblingly childish
2. It doesn't contain all the features and functionality of KDE/3.x -- let alone more.

KDE/3.5.x is a thing of beauty; sure, many user-configurable items are not contained in the Control Center, and work should have proceeded to gather them "under one roof", while /4.x was being developed and finished.

I ought to go back to logging-in on a VT100, running multiple terminal sessions in "screen".

Would you consider creating a splash-screen and KDM theme to match your "Mario" color scheme?

Admittedly, I'm a Debian user, and would like the Debian logo to figure in the designs, rather than the "Mario Brothers" cartoon; however, I'd prefer no logo or cartoon, if necessary, and simply the calming #BAB8AC background color.

Please consider this request.

Thanks in advance! - Apr 29 2007

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by ThXmE 10 comments

Very nice!

Would you consider making a version where the background color matches that of the recent "Mario" color scheme? That background color is #BAB8AC.

If I was graphically adept, I would do it.

Debian+KDE is a great combo, and runs quite quickly on my older PIII/866 box (running Debian Etch, of course). - Apr 29 2007

As a Debian Etch (now "Lenny") user, I applaud this splash screen.

Now, how about a version to match the "Mario" color scheme? If it helps, the background color is #BAB8AC

I know it's awfully anal... a foolish consistancy... and all that, but sometimes it's just, well, "nice" when separate components visually mesh. - Apr 29 2007

+2 Very easy on the eyes. The gray is not quite "gray", the beige is not quite "beige". All in all, a calming effect, which I appreciate; so will others, who spend many hours in front of a computer monitor. Nice work!! - Apr 29 2007
