Many AP's these days support WPA these days instead of WEP. Although using wpa_supplicant is easy enough, it would be nice for wlassistant to be able to input shared WPA keys. So far this program looks great. - Aug 27 2005

I may be wrong, but it seems what you are proposing would really necessitate the use of the Damage and Composite extensions. For instance, the Damage extension would tell the Composite Manager which parts of the windows needed to be redrawn, while the Composite Manager would use something like XRender to actually scale the windows down. These extensions will be available soon (possibly the next Xorg release), but we may need to wait a while for a good Composite Manager to be written with nice integration with KWin. - Aug 01 2004

Downgrading to Mplayer .92 seems to a temporary solution to me. When will we see this application upgraded to use the newest version of Mplayer/Mencoder? I think this app is very nice, so thanks for the hard work! - Jun 02 2004

The main thing that bothers me about Kopete is the lack of buddy icons. This may sound really trivial, but hey I think it's small things like this that distinguish good programs from great programs. I have heard that one of the main developers is working on this however... Hopefully next release :) - Mar 20 2004
The Way that KDM should look

If you know of a way to make the current KDM look like the screenshots, please enlighten us all instead of hiding this precious knowledge. Do not criticize people of ignorance without offering a way to alleviate that ignorance. - Mar 20 2004
The Way that KDM should look

Really one should be able to configure KDM to choose between the "classic" look and the new "GUI look" similiar to how GDM config currently does it. That way people that still want the old simple login screen won't complain, while others still get a pretty redesign.

Also instead of just a simple GUI redesign, it would be nice if one could embed various applets into the login screen (such as a date/time applet, weather applet, etc). Just a thought... - Mar 20 2004

The link that supposedly leads to a debian file just gives you the source tarball. I suppose I could compile myself, but then that would require 3 more seconds of work :) - Mar 02 2004
