I like the train and the colours, even if partly achieved with Gimp. Believing one of aspects of Linux is a great look, I wish you upload more wicked eyecandy.

Cool work, mate, keep it up! - Nov 02 2010
SHITbuntu plymouth theme

Honestly, mate, what's the point criticising Ubuntu? First of all it's Linux anyway, dummies friendly clone of powerful Debian. Secondly, it was ages ago when I last time applied any artwork criticising something i.e. MS Windows. I don't like, I hate it, therefore I don't even want to see a wallpaper or splash or anything else proclaiming my opinion about it.

After all it's a waste of time because this way you will not convince anybody not to use something, Ubuntu in this case. Especially when the artwork is not even half as nice as Ubuntu firmware stuff.

No offence but there are eyecandies I like more than this one.

I'm sure you're smart guy and this will give you some food for thoughts.

Cheers! - Oct 29 2010

This is very nice and cool theme. What I like is that it's comprehensive. You offer a complete pack, not just Emerald skin or wallpaper. You also provide instructions how to apply which will please beginners. I guess this is important part of propagating Linux.

Overall downloads over 49k - what a surprise, isn't it? ;)

Good job mate, keep it up! - Oct 29 2010

Thanks for compliment.

This is KDE and the dock is Superkaramba dock called Atalion vertical, adjusted and prevented to be hidden - as explained in the description. Plus some icons replaced. I also used Gnome screenlets (shows CPU temp and load). - Oct 28 2010
Pinup 1280x800 GDM theme

GDM Themes by andersenep1 9 comments

I wouldn't apply this theme since I believe my Linux should look professional, modern and cool. However this is what Linux is about: freedom of choice.

And to those purists bitching about inadequate contents: first of all this is an art not a pornography. It is not vulgar and, let's face it, it is just a nice piece of human's body. This is where your purist kids came from as well as what they've been fed with, isn't it? The sooner you understand that the better for them.

Secondly, you had seen the thumbnail thus should have refrained from surfing here either because you don't like it or your purist kids are around. Don't try to blame someone else for your mistake.

But even if it was a soft pornography I would still defend it on the basis explained. - Oct 24 2010

Nice work, however is there any particular reason for installing Linux and then making it look like Windows? - Oct 23 2010

The "fire edition" download link points to "edit artwork" which I obviously cannot do.

Please fix.

I've tried this at my laptop ASUS core duo 2.5 ghz with ATI Radeon X2300, running Ubuntu 10.04 (kernel 2.6.32-24-generic). The blurring enormously slows the computer down, yet does work when of type "4xBilinear" only.

The first screenshot shows blurr effect turned off

the second one - blurr of type "4xBilinear"

the third one - "Gaussian" type

the fourth one - "Minimaps" type

This is part of what lspci command gives:
Kernel driver in use: 8139too
Kernel modules: 8139too, 8139cp
Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel
Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel
Kernel driver in use: radeon
Kernel modules: radeon
Kernel driver in use: ath5k
Kernel modules: ath5k

I've also tried this on my notebook Asus Eee PC 1005 PE with intel N10 Itegrated graphics card, running Debian Squeeze (kernel 2.6.32-5-686). An attempt to turn the blurr effect on has crashed the xserver, or whatever drives displaying things on the LCD.
The lspci listing is:
Kernel driver in use: agpgart-intel
Kernel driver in use: i915
Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel
Kernel driver in use: uhci_hcd
Kernel driver in use: ehci_hcd
Kernel driver in use: ahci
Kernel driver in use: atl1c

So as you've said before, it looks like this has something to do with drivers. I must admit although linux is lovely, with not enough support from hardware manufacturers - as I've read - there is often an issue that something does work under windoze and does not under linux. It's a shame, really :( - Sep 16 2010

The Kadu ver. 0.6.6 BETA has been released:
I assume it will be in English shortly.

I haven't tested it yet so anyone who has done please let us know whether it supports background images.

I've applied your theme but cannot blurr windows. When I turn on the "blurr" plugin in compiz top decorations (above the menubar) just get intransparent (alpha=100%). I do not know why.

When I turn the plugin off the alpha comes back.

Please help.
