Amarok 1.x Scripts by apachelogger 14 comments

>!!!you need a webserver with php >= 4.1 and gd1 or gd2 to use this script!!!

Ain't that TOO COMPLICATED for those of us who haven't ever tried to install Apache or GD libraries?
What if something's wrong with the configuration of the server and\or GD? What's then? You will advise reading through GD library's how-to or F.A.Q.?

That's good script, but anyway, a lot of users won't be able to use it.

Above that, the script itself requires too much of third party software. Perhaps, you could use some other technology to make it more selfdependent?

Thanks for your contribution, anyway :) - May 03 2005

My Way On Desktops

Various Stuff by tuxbear 1 comment

... This is an ordinary way of thinkin' I believe (I do not mean anything bad... just as is), because when a user's got such cool thing as Virtual Desktop he starts experimenting and obviously comes out with the decision similar to yours.

That's me, that's a lot of people all over the world, but... I personally ignored this pretty cool feature for more than a year (or even much more... I just can't recall correctly when I first faced with VDs), and this can mean that there are still a lot of people who aren't aware of that fact, that Virtual Desktops can simplify their daily routine and chaos with one desktop per all the launched window applications.

One thing I can suggest you, as you've come so far to share the idea of progressive and effective way of using of the KDE Desktop is just write an article, include screenshots, experiment even more deliberately to discover some more ways (if any), schemes, patterns and possible profiles.

That'd be a nice piece of writing for the newcomers to KDE, in my humble opinion :)

Don't give up! You really shouldn't stop just by posting this information here. Go on, and you may will get surprised but what you do :) - Mar 21 2005

I'm not the developer of GTK-QT Theme Engine, I'm only Slackware packager.

So, repost your message to the main thread:

Thnx, for your download!

PS: I tried this piece of software and realized that sometimes dreams come true =) - Jan 27 2005

Could it be nobody knows??? :) - Jan 26 2005
GTK-QT Theme Engine

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by appy 24 comments

I installed your application - it works almost fine :)) Thnx a lot :))

As I understand it, I do not need any additional software from GNOME, I just need to install correctly gtk-theme, the create ~/.gtkrc-2.0 (for per-user changes) and also there's supposed to be rc-file for current theme, for instance ~/.gtk_qt_engine_rc

Ok, lets suppose I cant use your application. What do I do then? Am I just to install gtk-theme I need, then create correct ~/.gtkrc-2.0 and enjoy?

Ain't I asking too much questions? :)) - Jan 26 2005

I'd love to know what software I need to use gtk-themes? I didn't install all the packages that are distributed with GNOME, instead I did only install those which are required by the applications based on GTK+2 I run (The GIMP, Inkscape, StarDict and some others). So, I'm curious about whether I'm missing some software and what exactly I do need to make GTK+ based applications use GTK-QT Theme Engine.

Thnx in a advance! - Jan 26 2005

Actually, question is to all of you guys out there. Where KDE hard core users (:) can download any iconset?
I mean iconset which was designed originally for use with KDE, or at least compatible with KDE (we know that there's also GNOME fans making good art ;) )

Any hint ? :) - Jan 21 2005

Since you used soft colors for background you should work on Tux's outlined path making it antialiased. Though they are wee one can see notches and it ain't good. It contrasts with background.

Try make it smooth, but don't overdo; find consensus between smoothness and clearness and sharpness.

Anyway, I downloaded it :)
Thnx. - Jan 21 2005

Yeah, Kopete looks nice at the first glance, but program is still "raw", if I may say so.

I used to be a user of Licq for a year and half ago, and today am just forced to get the newest release of Licq (as I try to use as less GTK based apps as possible :) ). Thus Licq has become much versatile since the last time I used it. - Jan 19 2005
