I'm not sure what is your point. Are you saying that this theme is bad for Linux and it's publicity?

Why don't you make unique beautiful theme instead of spending time on pointless conversation?

By the way, I'm from Turku and you seem to be from Helsinki. I think that this explains our different views. ;) - Feb 15 2009

No one has asked you to make your Linux look like anything. The beauty is that you are free to choose. Even from Mac and windows look-a-like themes. The choice is yours, I'm just offering one option that you can choose from. And if you look download statistics, this option has been very popular. So my work was not in vain.

Theme sucks because it looks like something else? Well, it is supposed to look like OSX! It's the whole idea of this theme, so closer I get the better it is. If you think it's poorly implemented, then I get it that you think it sucks. But as far as I'm concerned, this is yet one of the best imitations available. Which makes it a good theme even if you don't like OSX look.

Have a nice christmas and use what ever theme you like the best! So will I and it's not this. :) - Dec 06 2008
Try this application to install usplash themes. - Aug 09 2007
I created my own icon theme that contains those icons. Unfortunately I can't publish it since I don't have copyrights. Wireless, Volume and Battery icons can be changed via icon theme. Pidgin, Liferea etc. needs some extra work. For example Liferea icons you can find at /usr/share/liferea/pixmaps. Just overwrite those icons with your own. - Jul 14 2007
It's called Lucida Grande. Check out my website for more information and link. - Jul 11 2007
This theme doesn't include window borders. There is many themes available on this site. In screenshots I use Emerald window manager with beryl. The theme is Dream's Accurate Tiger (or something like that). - Jul 11 2007
It's Avant-window-navigator. You can get it at - Jun 22 2007
Thanks for the info. :) - Jun 20 2007
You need to install pixbuf GTK-engine. In ubunu you can do this by giving a following command in terminal:

sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-pixbuf - Jun 08 2007
Sorry, but no. I have collected icons all over the internet and I don't have permission (copyrights) to publish them. - May 22 2007
I understand it can be bit confusing, but if I would go in details the article would be away too long and it's very boring to write such a detailed text. But I hope you manage to achieve what you want. - May 12 2007
Please, see my guide at Actually there is two of them. I recommend you to read both. - Apr 27 2007
Ok, this sound very bad. I don't use Evolution myself, so that's why I haven't noticed this kind of behavior. Can you say what kind of widgets is used in this element that crashes the system? I mean, is there buttons, tabs, comboboxes, etc? This would help me to find the problem. - Apr 22 2007
Let's see after this theme is stable and finished... - Apr 22 2007
Yeah, the macmenu can be confusing to install. Too bad, that it's not supported anymore by AqD, becuase it's a nice addition to Gnome although it's not perfect.

We'll see if I write this section in more detail in future. Now, I don't have time for that. Sorry :( - Apr 19 2007
Oh...ok. Now I see what you meant by this tab thing and you're right. It's not easy to navigate with keyboard, becuase there is no visual effect when button has focus. I see what I can do to make this better. - Apr 19 2007
Avant-window-navigator as replyed below. It also reads on my site like many other OSX imitating related things. ;) - Apr 18 2007
You need to download the package, drag it on gnome-theme-manager and select the theme. If it doesn't look right. Run "sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-pifbuf" and try again. - Apr 18 2007
Ok :) I don't have real OS X so my theme is based on screenshots I have seen. And I can't know which screenshots are from default installation. I think stripped menus are still in use though.

I don't have a screenshot of OSX menu checkboxes, so it's kind of hard to imitate them. :) Also, I'm not sure is it possible to use different checkbox image in menus. - Apr 18 2007
Window border is called DreamAccurateTiger. You can get it at Beryl website:

I'm not sure do I understand your comment about tabs. Could you be more specific? I know that tabs are not very OSX like, but it's hard to achive the real thing with GTK. - Apr 18 2007

Amazing work! This is no doubt one of the best icon themes available on Linux. The only thing I dislike is the Quit icon, but I think it doesn't even come from this theme, does it?

Keep up the good work. This is exactly what Linux needs. - Oct 26 2008

Very good work indeed! I can't wait to use this. I agree with brainiac05 when it comes to list headers. They are a bit too glossy when comparing to other parts of the theme.

Anyway, great work! Keep it up. - Dec 10 2007

Wow, that was fast. The 0.3 version is great! Thanks for this "fix"! - Jul 11 2007
I really like this theme, but is there a way to change the color of "tick" in checkbox and radiobutton. Black with dark background doesn't look too good. I would like to get it lighter. - Jul 11 2007

Nice! Sylpheed is a best GTK e-mail application I've seen. I also made a icon theme for myself some time ago. The default look is just ugly. - Jun 20 2007

As fas as I know, usplash themes requires C code and images for throbber. So the background image itself is not the whole source. I don't mean to be a pain in the a**. :) I really don't need that source, just wanted to point out in case that someone wants it. - Jun 17 2007
I would love to see version with clean black background. By the way, could you provide a link to the source files of this theme? GPL-licence obligates to publish source and at the moment there is only binary downloads available. - Jun 16 2007
