Thanks, I updated it. I think I had it capitalized because some version of Fedora look for "Fedora.png" and others look for "fedora.png". I had the same issue with Arch. - May 12 2013

Great! What was the mistake though? That way I can make a note of it for other users. - May 12 2013

Odd, what distro are you using? If you open up /etc/default/grub and scroll to the bottom is there a line for GRUB_THEME? - May 12 2013

That won't happen. Grub uses VESA BIOS Extensions for its supported resolutions. Some cards support widescreen VESA, but when a theme is used, it never behaves correctly (I tried making a 1366x768 version and that's what happened).

Well I tried to make a 1366x768 version, but Grub would move stuff around and put it in places it wasn't supposed to, and for some reason it was stretching the background image. Your best bet is to use the 1024x768 version. - Jul 10 2012

Below (1024x768). Using the one above it will make part of it go off screen. - Jul 09 2012

Do you want to remove it or just turn it off?

To disable it, open up /etc/default/grub in a text editor with root (gksudo gedit /etc/default/grub for instance). Then find the line that says GRUB_THEME= and comment it out by putting this '#' in front of the line then save it. Then in a terminal use the command update-grub with root (sudo update-grub for instance).

On the 1366x768 version, I'll be making that later today because my grub supports it as well (and I plan on using this one) then I'll upload it here. - Jul 09 2012

Look at the id numbers of the group and this page.

Both are 602. Me thinks it's a conflict of id numbers. - Feb 03 2012

For the same reason people target Windows when making software. Ubuntu has the biggest target base out of all the distros.

Are you referring to content here on gnome look as well?

I package everything and write instructions on installation specifically for Ubuntu because it's just what I use, as does the majority of the users who come one here. The people who produce content on here want the most downloads as possible so there's no way in hell we're going to write out instructions for Arch or Fedora only and leave the Ubuntu users hanging. - Feb 03 2012

I like your theme, and I liked it so much I made a grub2 theme of it (with Faenza icons).

Don't you have the .xcf file? You could just remove the the logo if you have it as a separate layer. - Jun 21 2011

So you pulled a wood texture/pattern/wallpaper off of google, then used Gimp to render a lens flare, and put the Ubuntu logo up in a top layer. Then you probably desaturated the logo then gave it 50% transparency. All of which can be done in less time then it takes for Gimp to start up. - Jun 05 2011

This is great, I don't know how to code websites so I use kompozer, and with this I can do some of the CSS stuff. I've been trying to assemble some tools that will make it possible for a non web developer like me to build some cool websites, and this helps. You good sir are awesome. - Sep 06 2010

If you could actually turn this into a theme I would totally fucking use it in a heartbeat. - Aug 28 2010
I freaking love this cursor, it really goes with my theme. Most cursor themes never seem to have a decent I-bar, but yours does. Also I love to watch it twirl around. - Aug 04 2010
