Evolve KDE

Icon Sub-Sets by Podstavsky 55 comments

I think the work you have done is outstanding. I understand the difficulty of putting together something so massive as an entire set of KDE icons by yourself. There's so many things I'd like to do and don't have time to do by myself.

I wish you had a complete set though, because your work looks fantastic. I'm one of the people who will be following your updates. I'm very poor so I can't help you out, but if I had extra money I would definitely donate to show thanks for your efforts.

Thank you. - Jun 02 2009

I don't have the time to help the community by reporting bugs. Every app I've used in KDE 4.2 crashes, some sooner rather than later. I'm using openSuSE 11.1. I went back to openSuSE 11 and KDE 3.5 and everything worked fine again.

I really, really wanted everything in KDE 4.2 to work properly. I went back to KDE 4.2 and awaited updates, hoping some of my most important applications would be straightened out. I use Amarok more than anything else, because no matter what I'm doing I have music on. Few updates have come. Amarok still glitches out like crazy.

If Amarok just worked right I could deal with all the other bullshit. I'm still hopeful... I can't help but think some of this is also openSuSE problems. [sigh] - Feb 07 2009

A daemon has absolutely nothing to do with religion or the occult. It's pronounced "day-mun." Personally I'm embarrassed for anyone who implants loaded meanings into the words they read.

For example: A dust devil has nothing to do with religion. It's a tiny cyclone in the desert dust. And just so everyone knows, I've been going by lesserdevil for 12 years. - Feb 01 2009

KDE 3.5 Themes by Ezy 45 comments

Nice theme.

Just so you know, the license you are describing is called Creative Commons, if you want to call it that. You can call it copyrighted, or you don't have to call it anything. I find your claim perfectly sensible.

Let me try to explain it to anybody who has a problem with licensing. He and Ying are allowing this theme to be used. You are not allowed to make money off of it. If anybody makes money off of it they are not only in violation of the clear legal rights of licensing, it also makes the violators rude and crass.

Anyone who violates Creative Commons is a real jerk. Grow up. - Jan 06 2009

I can't imagine anyone who has had migraines would name their application after the malady. Perhaps I am wrong. You may have written an awesome application, but I have to tell you the name is a terrible idea (IMO only). I've had migraines before that were so bad I wanted to kill myself. Naming your application after something like that can't be helpful to your chances of success.

What would you think of a file manager called Polio File Manager? How about Influenza Image Viewer? AIDS CD Burner? - Jan 05 2009

Plasma Color Schemes by jimmyw0 1 comment

Unbelievably the original fans of Skinny Puppy are now getting on in years, and the surviving members of the band are well on their way to being old. I got VIVISectVI on vinyl when it was released. I never dreamed I would one day have the album cover and colors on my own Linux system.

Cool idea. - Dec 20 2008
