That was actually just a bad screenshot, because I was moving amarok over when it took, and my windows get more transparent when moved. It is normally not that difficult to see. - Aug 12 2010

Getting rid of the rectangle is really easy. All you need to do is set the theme in the themes tab, click customize, go down to active rectangle (under icons), and set the fill colour and outline colour's opacity to zero (or what ever you want to change it to).

Ah, that's the edgy style. What you need to do is set the style to "edgy", check the "expand" (?) box, and set your panel position to the far left (or the far right). All these options in the dock preferences I believe, but I can't be sure because I'm not at that computer right now.

I am using the "showtime" theme and icons, found here:

The window border is the emerald theme Lyquid Water found here:

are you sure that you are using the newest version of AWN (0.40)? it is not found in the normal repositories, but can be installed by following the instructions on this page:
