Just had to reply to this. It is THE BEST theme i have come accross for my buuf icon set. "Therob themes" are good for the "black and white icon themes" in my own opinion but I was looking for something satin and glossy. The Buuf icons have a satin and green look to it but the blackness of your theme works perfect. I also love the brown color with the blackness of the menu. It works perfect with opacity at 78 and gaussian blurr in compiz manager. It is my default theme and I just took out the technix theme which was my default. OHH YES! the metacity is one of the best ones i have seen. I love the circles and how they glow. Lots of eyecandy here so move along folks! - Jul 14 2008

I laughed when i read this part "While preserving the basic 'ubuntu-colors'". There is no basic ubuntu colors to my eyes. I just wanted to point this out.

On another note, This is a very good theme. THANKs! I voted GOOD! - Jul 14 2008

here is the script but you also need a few details in configuration.

First off, download these fonts.
chess_miscel.zip
pizzadude_bullets.zip
style_bats.zip
weather.zip
webdings.ttf
xspiralmental.zip
from this site or more. http://www.dafont.com/

now we need to follow this next step to install the fonts into ubuntu.
System Wide:
Once you have downloaded and unpacked your font files (.ttf, .TTF), we just need to move them to the font directory:
# sudo cp *.ttf /usr/local/share/fonts/
# sudo cp *.TTF /usr/local/share/fonts/
Run the following command to rebuild the font cache:
# sudo fc-cache -f -v

and now for my current conky script. I have different variations including bars for the drives but I figured I wanted it as minimalistic as possible. I even had temperature gauges that animated and weather as well.

I must of spent a good 4 hours figuring out why my cairo-dock would show white borders around some of the icons I used. IT wasn't transparent but very ugly it was. After countless tries, I almost gaved up and figured it might be a size or something. But it wasnt. it was the color palette it was using. It was index instead of RGB. So after changing the ones I was having problems with using gimp, They look like transparent and problem was solved.

If you can change the png files to RGB? It could help in more applications as well. If not, then it's a cairo problem.

I know its alot of icons! - Mar 26 2008
Shiftie Black

GTK2 Themes by Hund 13 comments

I already found one problem. When you right click aplications->edit menus->and you select any of the item submenu or blackjack for example and you right click to properties, the launcher properties has the panel image tiled accross the whole menu and its kinda hard reading the names of each section. Tigris does not have this problem. Hope there is a fix soon. It's a good gtk and metacity theme. - Mar 26 2008

I noticed on some of the shots you have jaggy edges. ON a good system, try and create a sh file to activate the nvidia antialiasing at start up.

try these so you can adjust the hardware but remember it needs to be a good spec pc.

3. add startup file to system->preference->sessions "nvidia-settings -l"
4. add a settings nvidia-settings command into start menu and in nvidia-settings, bump the antiliasing half way up to 100%. if you run an awsome grahpics card, then your desktop will look silk smooth. - Aug 25 2007

This one is my favorite. I added this theme to my login and it starts up after my chrometext-theme.so.tar.gz with the startup-manager. my only problem is that it looks awsome with my blue colored wallpaper and was hoping that you had a black and white or grey available. I may modify the color of this one and post one up if my time allowes.
