ok, "solved"

just edited 'applet/SmoothTasks/TaskbarLayout.h', and changed line 226 "int animation = None" for "int animation = 0" (wich seems to be the righ value accoding to line 149 "None = 0"

I only miss one (well, may two) features.

1st: the notification when a new email arrives is great, but would be nice if those notification could be shown again, putting the cursor over the plasmoid for a few seconds for example.

2nd: click to open directly the browser into gmail (not into gmail's login screen)

those two features combined with this plasmoid, would make my day :D - Feb 24 2009

nice plasmoid, but would be nice to have a "click action" feature or so, this way you could click on the plasmoid and launch firefox directly to gmail, for example.
