There is a forum over at the sourceforge site.

There is also a kde 3.2 .tar.gz available for download with the always on top issue fixed.

Sorry for the delay..
This cpu monitor actually cat's your /proc/stat file to get information. I'm not sure what would be different in respect to 2.4 vs. 2.6 kernels, but what you can do to help me is to change the debug variable to 1 and post the output or email me. - May 03 2004

Found a few things that I find interesting about UI design.
First there's a link to a webblog about UI. Then a link to heuristics of UI design. There are many ways to go about UI design apparently.. task based, etc.
And finally a page with many links to government studies, company research pages, etc..
http://maddog.weblogs.com/stories/storyReader$68
The point of the above link is that UI concepts are everywhere, and can be very innovative.

Analog Clock

Karamba & Superkaramba by Idoa01 5 comments

I'm saying it is superkaramba based. I haven't looked too far into it yet. My test was to have a widget resize (grow/shrink) when the widgetClicked() was being called. It tested positive everytime for the 100%cpu usage issue when it shrank, but not on growing, and also after you shrank and clicked a second time to grow it again it would go away. I know it at least occurs on Mandrake systems. I'm going to try my Red Hat box at work soon... - Apr 17 2004
Analog Clock

Karamba & Superkaramba by Idoa01 5 comments

There is a bug where when resizing a widget from larger to smaller, you'll see this. In a proof I wrote, if you then reload when you see this happen, you can then use the new size without the 100% cpu utilization(of course if the dev wrote this information out and saved it for you). I've seen this on Mandrake so far, and I'm going to test my theory on a Red Hat box at work soon. - Apr 16 2004

One thing I've noticed is that a theme that is used that does NOT contain a .py file gives this error. Simply doing a 'touch whatever.py' replacing whatever wit the same name that preceeds the .theme file works.
So for example.. you have a xmms.theme file and there is not a xmms.py file. Even if the theme doesn't need it, do a:
touch xmms.py
and it should run without the error. - Apr 16 2004

There is no way to directly do this currently. It would be useful to implement this now though. Currently you would have to remove however many until you got to the one you want to remove, and then re-add your icons to it. I'll begin work on a way to do direct removal. Here's a question though, when the showing icon is removed, what should be displayed next? The very first one? or the next one in the rotation? or what? - Apr 16 2004

There is support in superkaramba to use a Mask, where by the image is the shape of the widget instead of a square. If possible to include this, it would remove the "artificial bordering" the widget provides by default, and only the clock would appear to be the superkaramba application excluding the empty area around it. I'll have to look up how to do it again if you need more information on setting up a Mask. - Apr 13 2004

skSeti

Karamba & Superkaramba by p0z3r 12 comments

After you verify that you have executeSeti.sh in your ~/bin directory, cd to that directory and execute it with the path to your setiathome installation.
./executeSeti.sh /home/p0z3r/superkaramba/skSeti/setiathome-3.08.i
686-pc-linux-gnu/
Hopefully you can at least get this much to work. If it does work, then I would think that there is a problem with your PATH environment variable that is keeping you from executing scripts in general. You could either then add ~/bin to your path or simply copy executeSeti.sh to someplace in your path like /usr/local/bin or /usr/bin.
Let me know what happens.

I know in Mandrake, KDEDIR is not set. You may have to either export it or set it up in your .bashrc or .bash_profile file. For example:

I'm running this under mandrake which makes it's own devices on the desktop, and they aren't .desktop files. I tried making one from scratch to no avail, without whitespace in the name. This is one I made just called Windows and it appears as /home/p0z3r/Desktop/Windows.
Notice it's not '.desktop'.

I find it useful as it is the only thing my iLaunch theme doesn't currently handle very well. On Mandrake 9.2 though when dropping a CD-ROM device from my desktop, it doesn't add to the device list, 'Not a device file dropped'. Btw, hope you got that email about the karamba.cpp for mouseMoved().

Here's what I found fiddling with the karamba.cpp.
http://doc.trolltech.com/3.3/qmouseevent.html#button
"Note that the returned value is always NoButton for mouse move events."
So it appears that this is the case. It's a bug. There might be a way to code around this in the karamba.cpp, for example setting up a callback similar to widgetClicked within the mouseMoved in karamba.cpp. btw, it's around line 3897 or so.
