The problem occurs during a normal run.
I followed your steps and it does seem that changing the check-box has no effect unless you first select (highlight) the task.
At least I now know why this is happening, is this by design?
Thanks for your advice.
BTW I'm glad to see luckyBackup continues to get good reviews on the web and in magazines, it's no accident.

I've noticed that luckybackup will execute all my backup tasks even when I have only 1 selected to run.
I hasn't always done this but unfortunately I cannot remember exactly when I first noticed it was happening - perhaps it was after I upgraded to Kubuntu 12.10 or maybe a recent KDE update (I'm using 4.9.5).
Any ideas?
Thanks

Excellent enhancement, thanks. - Dec 15 2010
This is one of the settings you can save.
Have a look at the settings screen, the 'Save mode' option allows you to control how the program saves files.
Interestingly on my system the default is to 'open the save dialogue for every image'. - Nov 11 2010
I assume you are using the 'Scan' option from the main window and not the one for 'Preview'?
Select 'Scan' and once the scan has completed a second window should appear which allows you to save the scanned image. Perhaps it is appearing in the background? - Nov 10 2010

The entry that appears in the System menu is the 'Super User' version whereas the entry in the Utilities menu runs with normal privileges.
Thanks for looking into this.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I'm running Kubuntu 10.04 (lucid) 64-bit and installing from the Launchpad PPA repository.

I noticed that before the recent updates there were 2 menu entries for luckyBackup; one was for normal user and the other was for super user.
Now there is only super user mode, have you removed the normal user version?
Thanks

Thanks for your reply.
You are one step ahead of me! I was going to suggest separate log files for each task but didn't want to seem too demanding, luckyBackup is already a great application.
I will let you know what I think when the new version is released.
Thanks again,

Would it be possible to have a separate log file for error messages so they are easier to find?
In my experience the errors are usually not serious but when you've backed up more than 75,000 files it can be very difficult to find them in the log file!
Thanks

Version 3.3 has an option on the main window labelled 'manage backup' which is not mentioned in the user's manual, what is the purpose of this option?
It would be useful if the version number was listed in the user's manual.
Thanks

With the 0.3 upgrade it's looking even better!
Thanks. - May 14 2009
The interface is clean and I installed a software package without any trouble.
I then stacked up several packages to install at once but there was an installation error with sun-java6. I de-selected sun-java6 and tried again but KPackageKit now reports "Cannot get the exclusive lock on the packaging backend. Please close any other legacy packaging tools that may be open."
However I haven't used any other packaging tools on this system so it seems that KPackageKit locked itself out when it hit the error. I tried a reboot but no change.
Do you know how I can clear the lock?
Thanks. - Apr 26 2009
