i've used kuake for nearly as long as its been out but -- i stopped using it for a few reasons about 3 months back and one of which was the tabbed view. i hope you get tab support soon so i can start using this baby again! thank you so much for taking the initative to get it back up and running ^_^ good luck and excellent work! - Sep 07 2005

nope... didn't work; even tried disabling nvagp & renderaccel, then went ( as my paranoid self often does ) back and set all those values to false... i think my monitor is about shot after restarting x as much as i did! lol ... i'm totally depressed! :'( i can't wait until it becomes ( closer? lol ) to stable. but thanks for the attempted try you've always done an awesome job at support, quick response and ( obviously ) kick-arse software! keep the good work up! =D - Jul 31 2005
currently i'm running gentoo with the latest ebuild from this site ( 0.8.1 ) and everytime i select crystal-gl from the drop down list kcontrol center crashes with the following backtrace error: ( btw i have completely disabled composite rendering even under /etc/X11/xorg.conf )

and i also have the latest 7667 nVidia drivers installed w/ renderaccel enabled as well as KDE 3.4.1 meta ebuilds... any suggestions? - Jul 30 2005
its really intresting to see this in action because if i play ut2k4 and exit it -- no problems, however, by the same token if i play quake3/teamarena and exit, the system only 'looks' fine. but i cannot do anything. literally. if i try running a program using alt-f2 it will display the dialog box ( in which the text and background are garbled ) then when i try running any program the program starts to load and the xserver and freezes. i can, however, kill it using ctrl-alt-bcksp... any ideas why it would die in q3a and not ut2k4?? latest point release 1.32b for q3a and 3339 for ut2k4 on a SuSE 9.2 w/ nVidia 6800gt using 1.0-6629... thanks :D - Jan 22 2005

i agree -- i too would like to see this as a global option; perhaps under control center's Appearance & Themes/Style module where the misc. tab is? that would really be helpful to see something like this - as flexible as KDE is some may want more of a "gnomish" feel at times =) got my vote! - May 25 2005

wow... three languages... great... so how does that benefit the community when not everyone has the same ability as you? secondly is if you really understand those languages why is it you _FAILED_ to post your comment/upload in english? obviously your intellectual capacity for common sense wasn't so lucky when you inherited your 'ability' to speak multiple languages. and by the looks of things your capacity for english isn't so great either - so my feeling is that you really don't speak/understand other languages as well as you say you do. just because i say i 'know' fortran programming doesn't mean i've actually programmed in it or know anything about it. - Feb 06 2005
you know, before you post there are huge freakin' letters stating how all posts must be in english... good post or not. maybe we should have that sentence in multiple languages because it obviously doesn't work. if anything else at least put a english paragraph in there stating what you just said in your native tounge. - Feb 04 2005

first off, excellent work! it reminds me closely of the novell's 'Industrial' theme which i've really enjoyed but it looks like yours is infinatly better with the conjoined cursors for things like hyperlinks... to sum it up: awesome job!! however i do have one request -- is there a way that you can make these install more easily ( via KDE's control center? ) if not, don't worry about it i got them to work, but for updates down the road it would be appriciated :D - Jan 07 2005

actually i understand your comment but i also understand the linux community greater than what you think --- the reason for me not reporting errors or requesting features is simply because i have no real need/use for these types of programs, however, i do test new programs and updates all the time to see if i might be able to use these on a day-to-day basis. for yours its only every now and then. which was stated in the previous comment, "which i've done numerous times on this forum however, i didn't". once again though, i'm sorry i choose to use a different program, as stated before, that's the point of linux, choice. sorry i happened to single out your product - however, isn't that why you released it under the GPL? so others could make it better? or to learn from? if not why even release it as open source? so why accuse me when i say that his is better? i respect the work you put into your program, but i also respect his and i think you should too -- after all, it is your work that he's using! and i feel it deserves a damn good comment! don't you? ;-) lets just leave it at that and call us friends, ok? :D

shadowrm - Jan 04 2005
first off you need to understand the linux community yourself - i just gave this guy a complement on his excellent work, which if thats in question then you have some serious issues. secondly, i never really liked kpopup because of lack of features - this is _MY_ personal preference, which is _EXACTLY_ what linux is about - if i don't like something, sure, i can request something from the person who originally created the program like yourself which i've done numerous times on this forum however, i didn't and something better than your program did come along, so what? i like the over all feel of this one better than yours, so what? that is _MY_ preference, and thats what linux is all about - if i wanted everything the same i'd use windoze! if you seriously took my comment as an attack against your program well then, all apologies, but in honesty -- thats like me telling the KDE developers i like firefox better than konqueror -- well, what do you think the developers of KDE are going to do? get all huffy at me because i like mozilla? i seriously doubt it. if you notice my previous comment it says "programs like this _IS_ what will continue to drive linux to be better than windoze!" it DOES NOT say that this program will trample over kpopup! you have a descent product and i respect that, but i'm sorry that someone else in the linux community made something better and _I_ happen to like it.

shadowrm - Jan 04 2005
this is your first program? AWESOME WORK! i don't know what you did to it, but it kicks some serious arse! at least it doesn't crash on me like kpopup does -- and just excellent layout and options. programs like this _IS_ what will continue to drive linux to be better than windoze! i look forward to future releases - good job! - Jan 03 2005

check out the post about 2 comments above yours "Doesn't compile", this looks like the same problem others were having... look before you post ;-) hope this helps - Jan 03 2005
yup, i've got SuSE 9.2 as well, fully updated using YOU. i thought it might be a problem with the distro because it looked like no one else was having the exact same problem with the weird de.po file. glad it helped you! ( thank SegFault too, he kicks a** at solving these types of problems! ) :D - Jan 03 2005
heres what i did:

cd po/
cp kcmtextshadowedit.pot de.po

now when i did make -f Makefile.cvs it failed... intresting, but who cares - so i ran ./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3 and make and volia! its good! ( at first i forgot to add the --prefix and nearly posted when i was like, oh wait, thats right -- i'm retarded :D ) thanks for the excellent work! and your prompt response! i posted this instead of 'thanks' just incase someone else hits this problem too ;-) again, thanks for the work! - Jan 02 2005
i also got the same error and when i tried make -f Makefile.cvs ( which i've done before successfully on other apps ) i received:

This Makefile is only for the CVS repository
This will be deleted before making the distribution

*** YOU'RE USING automake (GNU automake) 1.9.3.
*** KDE requires automake 1.6
make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1

i have no idea why that happened lol :D thanks for any feedback! - Jan 02 2005

the main core that i like most about kpager2 is that there is a zoom ability so that whenever you hover over the pager on a given desktop it shows you what is currently on it ( like a snapshot/picture of what it looked like when you were last on it ) the link i gave you last time i guess wasn't descriptive, it doesn't have a picture of what i'm describing, but this one does:

next to the taskbar there is a thumbnail of the winodw that is open, thats what kpager2 does, only it does it for your whole desktop. clear as mud right? lol ;-) but like i said, only a request. - Dec 23 2004
excellent work! but i do have a request and i don't know if its too much work or not -- is there any way i could get this to integrate with your version so i could also have it's zoom ability? - Dec 22 2004

i wouldn't really call it a ripoff -- it was, yes, inspired by napster. and its not like he was trying to hide it, hell napster IS part of its title. personally i'd be quite disappointed if thats its crime.
