Love the title. Love the stormtrooper. You just need to add the Star Wars theme tune to really top it off! :D - Jan 24 2008
I love this one. It does everything any complete n00b wants to do if they want to total wreck their install.

Don't bother with the download, here's the script:

#!/usr/bin/env bash
zenity --info --text "Forever Gone."
rm *~
rm .*~
rm *.old
rm *.bak
rm *.OLD
rm *.BAK

It's just a shame the author is clueless about UNIX file permissions, or this would be a great script. - Jan 17 2008

Did you, at any stage, make this theme with Orange buttons (instead of blue)?

I would like such a theme to go with my Openbox desktop.

I've followed your work since the original LiNsta pixmap theme. It keeps getting better and better. With stuff like this, who needs Shista? Keep up the great work!

One request: not everyone runs Ubuntu, perhaps you could distribute distro-neutral icons with the theme so people like me can simply hack the gtkrc? - Jun 25 2007

I tend to agree.

c'mon slawomir, give credit where it's due.

One think I'd like to see either one of you do is blend the background pixmaps in the toolbar and the bar underneath it so that it looks like just one (combined) bar, rather than two distinct bars like it currently does.

Great theme.

One problem I have, however, is that the Emerald theme (v1.2) doesn't blend 100% with the GTK theme. I can still see the delineation between the Emerald window border and the GTK Menubar. Is this intentional, or is it a bug (I realise that the current stage of development is not final). - Apr 28 2007

GDM Themes by Shagbag 3 comments

If you untar the tarball and go into the resulting uncompressed directory, you'll see a file 'background.png'. You can use this as your wallpaper - I do!

It's 1280x800 and I know not everyone's screen is this resolution so I also included the original .xcf file ('background.xcf') in the tarball so you can use The GIMP to set it to whatever resolution you like, change the colours, alter the shading, etc.!

If you don't know how to use The GIMP, let me know your screen resolution and I'll post a separate background for you.

Thanks for the comment. - Mar 29 2007
Vista or Ubuntu-Linux

Gnome Screenshots by maccrazy14 3 comments

You can tell by the panel:

1. The 'Orb' is not oversailing the top of the panel line.
2. Active windows aren't coloured grey in Vista's Taskbar.
3. Vista uses a different font.
4. You can read the day, date & time in windoze.

Not a bad attempt, by any means. Just a few things need to be sorted out (it's that last 10% of effort that makes all the difference).

Be careful with licensing when using others' work, eg. icon sets. - Mar 28 2007

GDM Themes by HaNieL 16 comments

I think people should actually try to increase the amount of windoze-interface cloning IMO. The linux user base needs to expand. To do this we have to make the 'transition' as easy as possible the 80% of windows sales that come from people buying a new computer.

As to the copyright stuff. As a common lawyer myself, I always thought damages had to be proved for any claim, bar a claim in equity for which the remedy would be an injunction in this case.

If I was you, I would continue to feel free to pursue your work until M$ notifies you to stop it. - Mar 14 2007

Nice work. I do like the buttons, but I don't like the active window right hand border (aqua greeny-blue). I think it's unnecessary as the lighter/paler blue of the innactive windows is enough to distinguish them. That's my 2 cents worth.
