You should try the new panel background in the new release of the theme (its not enabled by default, but there is an image in the theme package). - Mar 19 2010

It works for me.

Maybe it was a server error.

Is it still not working? - Mar 15 2010

Hopefully the updated theme works for you!

(Inkscape has been fixed)

Thanks again for your suggestion - Mar 14 2010

I'll try to do it. I don't use inkscape much, but I looked at it, and agree.

I hope the 2.2 panel bg is similar to what you were looking for. I have to say myself that my theme is looking much better with the panel bg than before.

Thanks for the suggestions! - Mar 08 2010

The emerald theme was sort of a bad hack, and now I've started using metacity to draw my windows. If you're using compiz, you can still use the metacity theme using Compiz-Config Setting Manager.

Just go to the Window Decorations section, and change the text field labeled Command to /usr/bin/compiz-decorator - Feb 15 2010

I think I know where the problem lies, but I can't seem to find an app to preview it in.

Which program did you encounter this problem in? - Feb 15 2010

Could you give me an example or screenshot of this? I'll see what I can do. - Feb 15 2010

Thanks for your input.

Sorry, the command should be:
git clone http://git.gnome.org/browse/murrine/

That should fix the problem. - Feb 15 2010

Sorry about the annoyance, but right now correcting it causes more problems, namely, all buttons on the panel keep the slightly grey text when they are active, instead of turning white. However, if you think that's a smaller annoyance than the window border color, then you can change it by looking in the gtkrc file for the style "panel" and changing the fg[ACTIVE] to "darker (@selected_fg_color)"

Also, I merged the panel.rc into the gtkrc, so the apanel.rc file is actually useless. - Jul 06 2009

Thanks for your constructive criticism. Can you point out specifically area's that need work. (You mentioned the color contrast - can you go into some more detail, so I know what to fix?)

Once again, thanks for your comment! - Jun 13 2009

Sorry again. You don't need to do anything special, except install the newer version of the theme, and your panel should work fine. - Jun 12 2009

1. Sorry, I've been using a separate gtkrc to theme my panel. If you put the new file I attached into your home directory it should fix it.

2. I haven't made a metacity theme yet - Sorry. I'm using an emerald theme currently (which I've added as well). If someone wants to help me out, the gradient is from #666666 to #808080.
