I'm seeing a small issue with Dolphin under Bespin and I'm wondering if you see the same thing.
I have the UNO option enabled to include toolbars, window title, and sunken appearance. In the Workarounds section, I have the "Dolphin: unite iconview, url navigator, statusbar" option disabled. I'm using KDE 4.14.10 and the latest from sf.net.
With this configuration, it looks like Dolphin is attempting to draw the NW corner of the tabbar background when no tabs have been opened. The corner image is visible only when the navigation bar is not editable.
Please let me know if you need more information. - Sep 21 2015

I know it's a long shot, but I just have to ask...
A long time ago, it was possible to add the "filter bar" text input box to the main toolbar of the old Konqueror file manager.
Currently with Dolphin, the filter bar opens below the icon view.
Is it feasible and/or desirable to add a Bespin workaround that would place a Bespin stylized filter input into the Dolphin toolbar?

Is there a way to disable the window title text emboss/inset effect?
My window title text is 7pt #1D1D1D on a #9B9B9B window & the emboss effect muddles the active window title text a bit.
Would it make sense to combine the text inset effect with the "more traditional button" kwin option selection? I.E. When traditional buttons are selected, the inset effect would be enabled. Otherwise the text would be flat like the button icons.
Just a thought. Thanks much for your work!

I tried your suggestions, but wasn't able to achieve the result shown in the mockup.
I'm using the Bespin deco on its own (I really like the shadows, buttons, and border width controls) combined with Oxygen Transparent (unified GTK) . . . so I'm not sure the style hints would work in my case.
Screenshot without outline...

...the dolphin titlebar gets lost in the konsole window behind it.
Mockup with outline...
http://i.imgur.com/o4f5a.png
...there's a slight outline tracing the outer perimeter of the dolphin window.
I don't know if the Bespin deco was ever intended to be used on its own, but IMO, the addition of an outline option and maybe a border radius config would make it perfect.

I really like this look, however the decoration visibility suffers a bit when positioned over a dark background.
Would you consider adding a window decoration configuration option that could be used to set a decoration frame outline width and color?
In my case, I would use it to set a 1px gray outline to delineate the outer window decoration edges.

I'm using sunken buttons in the toolbar & in cases where a combobox appears there (like with kates sql connections toolbar), it might be nice if the combobox could acquire the display settings of the toolbuttons.
I don't know if it's even possible, but just wanted to throw that out to see what you think.
Thanks! - Jan 01 2012

So... Would it be a bad time to mention a window titlebar issue I've noticed with the latest update? =P
It seems to be related only to GTK windows...
Gimp-2.6: Titlebar not visible on the toolbox window.
Google Chrome: Titlebar not visible on the "save file" dialog.
Inkscape: Titlebar not visible on the main window.
I have no idea how the shadow stuff is implemented, but it almost looks like an overlay is masking off the titlebar, where it looks like the titlebar opacity is 0% with the inactive window shadow drawn around it. The Qt stuff is working fine.

KDE 4.7.2
GTK 2.22

It compiles fine, but it looks like the install script tries to put the .so in the wrong place. On my system, the libs are in /usr/lib64/kde4/ . . . line ~24 in the installation script tried to put it in /usr/lib/kde4/.
After changing the path, the install script completed, but the plasmoid complains that it can't find the takeoff component.
It does run from the console using: plasmoidviewer takeoff
Hope this helps.

Since the update, though, google chrome is crashing with:
/usr/bin/google-chrome: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines/libqtcurve.so: undefined symbol: gtk_widget_get_state
I tried a different GTK2 app & it did the same.
In both cases, the crash occurred after the first click in the app. Chrome crashed on first click (which was a link). The other app (gnome-nettool) crashed when I clicked a tab.
I reverted QtCurve GTK2 back to 1.7.2 & the crashes went away.

I'm trying to set up a kind of smoked glass appearance by setting the win deco background color to almost-black and then lowering the window decoration opacity. At these settings however, the light and dark borders come out a bit too dark.

When it does this, it fills the upper left and upper right corners with the inactive window color . . . so the active, shaded window displays with upper corners colorized to the inactive titlebar color.
