Here is how you do it:

1. ALT+F2

2. Open the file from YOUR HOME FOLDER /.themes/LUX_avant-garde/metacity-1/metacity-theme-1.xml

3. Change this:
<window type="normal" style_set="normal"/>
<window type="dialog" style_set="frame"/>
<window type="modal_dialog" style_set="frame"/>
<window type="menu" style_set="border"/>
<window type="utility" style_set="border"/>
<window type="border" style_set="border"/>

to this:
<window type="normal" style_set="normal"/>
<window type="dialog" style_set="normal"/>
<window type="modal_dialog" style_set="normal"/>
<window type="menu" style_set="normal"/>
<window type="utility" style_set="normal"/>
<window type="border" style_set="border"/>

4. Save and enjoy. - Feb 21 2010
I love this theme too. I think you will be able to modify the Metacity theme for your need.
The only change you need to do is to change the last lines in the Metacity theme file that is set to 'border' styles and replace it with 'normal' style. They are assigned to handle dialogs. I will also put the exact code on the knowledge base tab of this theme. - Feb 21 2010
Yes that is the icon theme. Simple - Feb 21 2010
Thanks. Someone should then port to XWFM. I do not have experience to do that. - Feb 21 2010
I can share your opinion. Murrine is an excellent engine and the look of the theme is pretty much depends on my ability that I can use all what this engine can handle. - Jan 11 2010
I think so. Anyway I sent the file to the address I believed its yours.
Let's see. - Jan 11 2010
Alright, that was my plan.
On the other hand I can send beta theme on request if interested. - Jan 11 2010
Thank you guys for the comments so far. I can already see this design is very much liked.
As soon as the rating reaches above 70% I am gonna release it I promise.
When it will be? Well that is up to you and your friends. - Jan 10 2010
Okay then, I have time now to upload a TWF pix too. - Jan 10 2010
Hm... Panels. They make life more difficult then it is.
The reason of the simple panel design is to make the theme work well, under any circumstances. As soon as I add any panel design it fucks up some of theme part. Just test the Drawer application on the panel with any theme that designs the panel.
BTW if you know any workaround I am listening... - Jan 10 2010

No problem. And good to have someone really taking care of this site and keeps the scrap out. :) - Oct 29 2009
Fine I have corrected myself, you do not need to do any further action.
Then I shall upload once more the LiveCD boot starting splash but this time with a preview picture as well and that will show un-mistakable the difference thus you will not remove the stuff. :) - Oct 28 2009
And now I also see the two different content is mixed together but they are supposed to be different.
a) LiveCD boot start screen = splash.pcx
b) Gnome boot splash = splash.png
They are different sized pictures with different purposes. I will have to correct this content and have upload once more the missing one. - Oct 28 2009
Thanks for care. Just some things I need to understand.
1. Have you removed the gnome splash content? (file name was splash.png and intended to be a splash screen after GDM login)
2. As I can see on the here in the content site you have left the liveCD bootsplash (file name was splash.pcx and intended to be the liveCD boot starting screen)
3. Have I incorrectly posted twice either splash.png or splash.pcx?
They are two different parts of the boot process with similar names.
Please let me know. - Oct 28 2009

Not true. If ya convert the out put file in Gimp to jpg, you can have very big resolution file under 300k size. (hint: use in Gimp the preview option when converting to see the size) - Oct 18 2009

I have played with the engine for one day. I can tell you this has great promise. I made a fully theme workaround that you got to try:

It is a great theme. I will use partially in my next release. Great job, very well done.
Now I have a question. Is there any fix for the launcher window?

No problem. Please let me know when you found something on fixing. I need the same bug fix for my dark themes. - May 03 2008
I you carefully observe the fonts in the 'places' field and compare with the 'names' column you should be able to see the different. - May 03 2008
Your welcome.
The bug is the shadow that makes the text in the main window where the filenames are. The text is ghost-like. In one of my theme I have the same thing to be fixed up. I did not solve yet but I realize it in others theme too. :-)
I use LCD screen and my font smoothing is of. I suppose it would be different look on CRT screen with font smoothing. - May 03 2008
I have found one bug:
This you can re-produce by opening any package with the File Roller 2.22.2 and click on extract button. - May 02 2008

Thanks man, I am amazed of your skills and harmony too. On my opinion these
standard buttons are the outstanding once and could be easily made to the style of the one I linked earlier.
If you modify the button (gtk-2.0/button/button-normal.png) and make it smaller a bit and merge to the color of the background (#242424) you can get the feeling that the button is actually grown out of the background like in the previous link. You need to figure out how to do, but I suppose you use GIMP and with that it takes short time to change.
Otherwise this theme is really awesome. - Apr 17 2008
Rob, Have you thought of making the buttons to be less outstanding? I would do so like here:

Hi Rob, I have been looking at this theme and its improvement for a while. I must say your taste of design is gorgeous. Congratulation my fella and thank you for the time, effort and so on what you have spent to improve the appearance of Linux.
