Nautilus 3.6.
For some reasons, Ubuntu 12.10 provides Nautilus 3.4 but you can install the new version via a PPA. - Nov 11 2012

Those applications are written in GTK2 which, unlike GTK3, does not support different graphical characteristics for widgets contained in unfocused windows. That is why the menubar color does not change where the window is inactive while the metacity border does. - Dec 12 2012
It is not a bug but a new Gnome feature: some applications can adopt a dark theme for a better visibility of their content (totem, eye of gnome, boxes, etc).
I you don't like it, you can remove the gtk-main-dark.css file in the theme folder. - Dec 11 2012
The comments above are right. Plus, with opaque panel, there no problem with global menu.
Anyway, Faience is a WIP so it is subject to many changes from one version to another. Perhaps, panel transluency will be back in the future. - Nov 17 2011

I'd like... but I am very busy since 6 months and it 's difficult to find some time to work on my various projects. It goes very slowly. - Oct 04 2012
There is a 'donate' link in front of the download buttons ;)

Thanks in advance. - Sep 03 2012

Try to run the INSTALL script from within its directory. - Oct 14 2011
Can you give me the error message, please ? - Oct 13 2011

It's my fault: I use Fedora since two months to test Gnome Shell ;) The Ubuntu logo will be back in the PPA in the next hours. - Aug 11 2011
No tutorials for the moment but you can download the sources : you will find all icons in SVG format including the smaller size. - Aug 01 2011
Thanks for reporting and helping.

The missing icon will be included in the next release. - May 23 2011
Sorry, it's my mistake. I will upload a new version to my PPA in the next minutes. - Mar 29 2011
Have you read the 4th point in the known issues ?

You have to modify two files: /usr/share/applications/guake.desktop and /usr/share/applications/guake-prefs.desktop - Mar 19 2011

Edit (as root or sudo) the /usr/share/applications/gvim.desktop file and replace the line :

It should now work. Note that you can restore the default desktop file by simply reinstall the application. - Nov 23 2010
I'm waiting to see the reactions to make a choice about the Firefox icon. Many people found the previous ugly, some others like it... it's hard to please everyone ;) - Nov 20 2010
Can you please describe your problem more precisely ? - Nov 20 2010
emesene is already here: there are also two themes included for this application. Can you check the icon mentioned in /usr/share/applications/emesene.desktop ? - Sep 06 2010
Coloured icon will come with the next update. For monochrome one, jdownloader doesn't support specific tray icon for the moment (like many others applications: exaile, deadbeef, liferea, etc). I try to find a solution. - Sep 01 2010
When you modified the icon, did it changed also in the gnome menu ?

Generally, it's better when applications use a specific icon for tray (like gwibber-panel.svg, e.g.). - Aug 31 2010
Do you know what name will this icon have ? - Aug 31 2010
Each application installed on your system has a .desktop file in /usr/share/applications. In each file, you can check which icon is used by the app. Can you give me the ones for OpenOffice on your system ? - Aug 31 2010
The problem is that compiz-fusion doesn't support specific panel icon yet. - Aug 30 2010
Rssowl is already included but you have to edit its .desktop file in /usr/share/applications/ to display the theme's icon. - Aug 30 2010
No problem. Anyway, I'll do the most requested applications in priority. - Aug 28 2010
Dropbox icons are included but they work only with the latest version of the application (released a few days ago).

For Skype, it's not possible yet because the application doesn't support icon themes and default icons must be replaced. By dark or light version ? The choice could be available in INSTALL script but not in package. - Aug 27 2010
Goldendict icon already exists but you might modify the /usr/share/applications/goldendict.desktop file to display it correctly. Take a look at the README file or the description above.

And before you ask for: goldendict doesn't support theme status icon yet;) - Aug 27 2010
Launchpad take a long time to build packages this time. But now everything is OK. - Aug 27 2010
In this version, I test some coloured icons for IM status. That's because Empathy use its own status icons for panel AND application window (user status and list of contacts). Light grey icons are cool in panel but almost invisible in application window but the coloured ones are visible in both them. It's the same issue for Emesene. - Aug 27 2010
Tray icon for Shutter is already included. Which distribution and application version have you ? (mine is 0.86.3) - Aug 27 2010

Launchpad is long at building packages these days and mines have a low priority (and sometimes, I sleep ;). I launched the builds on Maverick, Natty and Oneiric this morning so be patient... - Nov 17 2011
No plan for this at the moment: from my experience with Faenza, it's too much work for having a ton of unsolvable issues with themes like Ambiance that used light and dark controls. - Oct 26 2011

I think that replacing all the references to theme-toolbar-dark by theme-toolbar and theme-toolbar-button-dark by theme-toolbar-button in the gtkrc file would be sufficient. And also comment the following line (#487) :
widget_class "*<GtkToolbar>*<GtkLabel>*" style "theme-dark"
- Apr 28 2011
No problem but I'd rather you mention that your theme is not an official one. I plan to make some emerald port for all the five Equinox Evolution themes and they will be significantly different from yours.
- Apr 28 2011
It's may be too early too answer but, honestly, developing an engine is a huge work that is not very rewarding (I talk about instant and personal gratification). So, today, I have no plan to port Equinox on Gnome 3 but I'm not very delighted to do it especially if GTK3 requires a complete rewrite. - Apr 06 2011

Please read my comments on the previous page about Equinox original themes.

And for the scrollbars, it's the flat style which is already present in 1.30 (but not used in original theme). The sliders are as wide as the others style but less visible. Elementary GTK theme use this style of scrollbar but they are displayed inside the list. - Apr 08 2011
You don't need to downgrade but just to download the Equinox orginal themes (third link above) and install them through gnome-appearance-properties application (or copy the content of the archive in /usr/share/themes).

If you really want to downgrade, use your favorite package manager (Synaptic on Ubuntu) to force the version of the Equinox packages to 1.30. - Apr 05 2011
Equinox Glass was removed from the list of the themes provided with the theme package because it's to much work to maintain a dozen of themes, sometimes very similar. I prefer to focus on only five themes of fairly significant variations that can be used with the different Faenza themes.
The old "original" Equinox themes are still downloadable from here and can be installed in ~/.themes or /usr/share/themes (as root or sudo).
Note that if you like the glassy buttons for exemple, you can edit the gtkrc file from one of the Equinox Evolution themes and simply change the value of the corresponding parameter. I strongly encourage you to build your own themes ;) - Apr 03 2011

It's Docky.

You can certainly install it on your Debian from the development PPA: - Nov 23 2010
GTK theme is Equinox Evolution, Metacity is Equinox Evolution Squared. Both of them are included in the corresponding archive. - Sep 28 2010

The themes installed in your ~/.themes folder are not available for other users than you. Synatic and other admin apps run always as root user (sudo) who do not have access to your themes.
To solve this, you can move or symlink your themes from ~/.themes to /usr/share/themes to make them system-wide (or to /root/.themes to make them available only to root). - Apr 03 2011
