KDE Twister

Wallpapers KDE Plasma by ChristianNickel 21 comments

At first glance I didn't see what the big deal was. I downloaded and installed and immediately realized that its the neutrality and the Font and text usage that makes this one so great. The text on the bottom right corner looks super. Overall this gets two thumbs up from me. - May 20 2006
Internet tool

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by smihael 7 comments

I began work on a similar project that integrates very well and easily with yours.

Using kdialog and bash I have written a hand full of scripts to manipulate networking settings. I beleive that these in cooperation with your internet tools sidebar menu can be beneficial.

I will e-mail you the raw scripts for you to evaluate and if you are in favor we can rewrite them and create a complete more simplified way to change network settings.

service menu management to kcontrol

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by blurymind 32 comments

This is one of those ideas that makes you say dang why didn't I think of that! This addition is a must. This service menu kontrol is must. Its not so hard to add service menus but having a tool makes perfect sense.

I also like the idea of the guy who posted above me but I deffinitley think its a different tool than what you have designed here. Most gracious for you good idea. I hope some excellent coder will bring this to pass. I suggest that possibly we let Jean know since he has written some very nice additions to kde control center. He wrote the KnetworkConf which made it into 3.4 and up. I will write him. Nice idea. - Apr 27 2006

Just wanted to say that a word interpretting calculator is a brilliant idea! It think that people who can think word problems are always two steps ahead of those that require a pencil and paper. Your calculator will help promote that type of thinking. Nice job. - Dec 04 2005
All 7 Gears Splash Screens Pack

KDE 3.x Splash Screens by ChristianNickel 11 comments

I think this looks great. Good icon set and your backgrounds are super. I use them on all my computers. I wish that you could also make a boot splash with the Moodin engine. Your art and the Moodin effect at boot will be a perfect compliment.

If you are unsure about how to open a project at sourceforge just follow these links in order after completing each step. This definetly would be a good sourceforge project. Excellent addition to KDE. It really improves the warm fuzzy experience people want out of thier computers.

Here are the links:

Step 1. Register as a sourceforge user.
Step 2. Register the Opensource development project.

Looks like my first detailed post got lost. I really like you windeco. I would never had guessed the kicker bar that color would look so cool. The windeco and everything on your desktop looks very well balanced and nicely tied together. Very cool! - Nov 11 2005

You got my vote! This is one of the coolest simple KDE desktops that I have ever used.
Nice on the eyes!
Excellent colors!
Very attractive
Good proportions and effects
Looks great up close or far away.

And best of all its distro neutral.

This one really stands out as seriously fantastic.

I like it a lot. Looks very professional and clean. I wonder if a little color on the kde logo might provide just enough contrast to set it off like a jem in an elegant setting. Please continue it has a lot of class and appeal.

I like it a lot. But it messes with the font colors in kwrite so you have tweak them but over all I have switched and I like it a lot.

Dolphin Service Menus by LaFleche 7 comments

I also had this same idea a while back but never got around to making it. Actually I did make it but as a kdialog program not a service menu. I think that another good one might be to create a service menu that will organize you files into folders.

Instead of My documents and my music, and my photos like in windows have a service menu that will allow a quick clean up that sorts files into Music, Graphics, Archives, and Documents.

Just a thought. Nice work! - Jul 26 2005

In general I like a lot. You might consider replacing the white background with a texture or something. Its just too much contrast and makes looking at it as a wallpaper straining on the eyes. Looks very nice. - Jul 26 2005

After testing it out some further its incredible! This is the best I have seen yet. This is truly an improvement to the linux desktop. I only wish it had sounds also. It would be great to incorporate some cool effect sounds when the fading took place. This is super! - Jun 26 2005

It looks great I like the improvements. It doesn't install correctly though without tweaking it. The preview doesn't display when running a test. I rebuilt it and sent it to you so you should be able to post the rebuilt one and it will install painlessly.

Do the X

Wallpaper Other by jpetrow 3 comments

This could actually catch on. I'm laughin my head off right now and think I might go outside and do the X myself except its night time. Keep it up man. If you capture enough good shots your going to start something. Who knows? If it catches on and get linux more attention you can say you started a movement. I think it makes a good media campaign for advertising. It reminds me of ht old Toyota commercials of the 70's and 80's. Funny/Cool Idea.

I liked this one so much I turned it into my Yoper Desktop. I have had requests for it but without the bar could you release a version without the bar? Also I have had many favorable responses to it. Would you consider making several Yoper Linux backgrounds? Your particular style lends itself very well to the Yoper design.
