Mac OS X allows "show desktop" to be binded on some corner and expose on another corner. "Show desktop" would be great option especially with superkaramba. - Oct 01 2005

Not only the difference between gtk and qt. KDE is programmed in C++ and Gaim with C. That "++" counts alot. So you can't just port Gaim. You need to rewrite and design the code.

So it would be easier to fork kopete... maybe you should just learn to write code youself before referring to lazyness of developers when suggesting insane projects without doing any research(like is the porting even possible). - May 23 2005
GTK-QT Theme Engine

Looks like you have not been blessed with too much IQ and politeness. You might consider situation where you have many QT/KDE apps and one GTK app. I for one like that all apps look the same without need to hunt down GTK theme that looks like currently used QT/KDE theme. - Dec 23 2004

Use configure like this:
./configure --disable-debug --enable-final

works for me with slackware-current(same as 10 for now). - Jul 12 2004

Me too, optionHandler.cpp is missing includes and there was some parse errors on for loops in OptionHandler::rightShadow. Added include-lines for baghira.h and math.h and those removed most of the errors. - Jul 08 2004
Kopete -> iChat Style

Various Stuff by Magus 53 comments

could you remove the white from those pictures and replace it with transparency? This is really nice style, but it doesnt work well with transparent background. I don't know if kopete supports it thou. - Mar 08 2004

Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by TWD 24 comments

I would like to have autohide feature like in kasbar so it would slide on screen when mouse cursor is at the bottom(or other location) of the screen.

Also, KlearDock segfaults if smalliconsize equals bigiconsize.

So in line 1224 of kleardock.cpp
if (iwSmall > iwBig)
if (iwSmall >= iwBig)

that should fix it.

I tried to put those to same size because I don't like icon zooming :P - Jan 21 2004

Well, imho X sucks anyway. I'm waiting for a day when qt-directfb/directfb can be used to replace current qt/X combination. Just that I have no idea when or if ever it is enough for KDE to work. - Nov 18 2003

Yeah, I thought that myself, just needed to ask =)
Tried iTunes theme, I have p3 600MHz laptop, it's little too sloooooow. Liquid is fast(and nice looking). Is there possibility to do poor man's version of that, w/o light map? I have ati mach 64 so it would be slow anyway, even if it would use GPU instead of CPU :)

very nice work by the way! - Nov 17 2003

Karamba Mac Os X Bar

Karamba & Superkaramba by luismml 35 comments

I actually would prefer the top bar working like in MacOS and like MacOS manubar works in KDE. I use that myself since I like that options of active window are always accessible at the top of my window.

So it would be cool that when usin eg. Konqueror there would be "Location, Edit, View, Go, Bookmarks, Tools, Settings, Window, Help"-options.

That should be possible doing little research on KDE internals. - May 15 2003
