Wonderful theme. The default theme is a little too 'l33t' for me, good to see something a little more standard. Hopefully the color-sensitivity behavior will be included in Hardy/KDE4 so I can use this. - Apr 17 2008

Better than apple's... though I'm not sure we can really make that comparison. - Apr 02 2006

Yeah, the aspect ratio isn't preserved. If possible, you should probably set a maxwidth and let the height be determined from that.

Icon Sub-Sets by Phytonix 14 comments

By softness i think we may be talking about the shape. Everything else seems to have a distorted and 'softened' shape.

The cd and dvd icons look like they may cut through something if you threw them hard enough. =]

But i love the iconset. It looks beautiful, i especially dig the compression icons and inkscape. - Jul 22 2005

One small oversight...

In the artist list, where do the number-prefixed artists go? (ie. 2Pac or 10,000 Maniacs) - Jun 20 2005

First off, great script. It's way cool.

I just thought I'd tell you it's not rendering under Opera 8.0 (for me at least.) Firefox and Konqueror love it though... thanks! - Jun 17 2005

Karamba & Superkaramba by gotem 9 comments

I like this a lot. And agree with the above comment. It has a unique feel.

One suggestion... Maybe, if it's possible, an option to make it spin without the use of a wheel. It could spin faster the closer you hovered to the right and bottom edges. And sit still if you were over the center. Less fuss for the lazy. =]

I'm looking forward to see where this goes... good luck! - Dec 31 2004

I agree. Hackish. You took what i assume is someone else's photograph, cut out the subject, and plopped her sloppily onto a black background.

I really don't think this pic belongs here. - Dec 29 2004

I'll admit it would be better than Kaffeine's, but that's no great accomplishment.

I guess my point is that clich - Dec 21 2004

I don't really like this one. To me an icon should give you some clue to what it does at first glance. This icon refers to the title of the program and not the function. I think mascots are cute, but should be reserved for the splash screen.

Someone said that the waves made it more obvious that it was an audio app. But that's only in hindsight. If i was a new KDE user, freshly migrated, i wouldn't know what to make of the icon. "Maybe it's the instant messenger? Maybe an RSS aggregator? Or something to do with broadcasting?"

Further, because of the more muted color-scheme, i may assume it's actually a Gnome application. I understand that people don't like bolder colors, but that's where KDE is at right now. And if you're going for an integrated look that's what you'll need to use.

Nothing personal. Just my view. And don't worry, it seems i'm well in the minority. =] - Dec 17 2004

> and what is the "go" button good for???

For newbies apparently it's not obvious what to do once you've typed what you want into the field. Imagine google without a 'search' button.

For me I can copy a URL, paste it and 'go' without having to switch back to the keyboard. Afterall web browsing is mostly mouse driven. - Oct 26 2004
