I borrowed the idea from atac's karamba sys on this site, and changed it to use bars instead of a graph, and a background image. I use Super Karamba .17j on Gentoo. Works here. It sits in the lower left corner of my 1600x1200 desktop.

I'm using the Redhat RPM for karamba but wanted the register Headlines instead of slashdot. Thought I'd share it - you can see the Headline box on the left of the desktop. Thanks go to dcpark for a top notch RPM and the Karamba team for a top notch app.
