Actually, I've got some basic action icons done (~25) -- but I've been trying to upload them for a week to themes.freshmeat.net, and everytime I try, it fails. I'm really getting annoyed at this. If anybody has a little bit of space (and bandwidth) on which they could host this set, please let me know. In the meantime, I'll keep trying freshmeat! Thanks! - Jul 23 2003

Good point. Actually, KaZaA (lite) runs rather well under wine -- but yes, it's not for Linux. Anyway, there's a Gnutella and a QTella icon in the new release -- Personally, I am rather fond of the Gnutella icon. Use it. now. - Jul 06 2003

...Is your march? or are you joking? lol...Yea, look at the Netherlands -- They've legalized cannabis, and have more positive effects (like the incredible profit they make in gov't-owned stores!) to show for it than they do negative ones.

...is a bad idea? That's where most of the recent additions are, and I've been trying to make them as colorful as possible. Would it be a better idea to make the original (grey-ish) icons colorized, or to tone down the saturation on the newer ones? - Jun 13 2003

Can't argue with the copyright argument (lol), but i've always understood GPL to mean that you have to provide the source upon request, as in it has to be available if the user wants it. Doesn't mean that you have to post it; just that you have to provide it if someone asks. Right? Just my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong! - Jun 10 2003

Wow...a LinuxCult Admin likes it...Always good. And yes, actually, I am/was working on a metallic orange theme, based off the same basic stuff as these, but with a different style. However, I stopped working on it, because they were too similiar to these. If you'd like them, or would like to look at them, email me. I've only done about 20. - Jun 10 2003

I have to concede both points:
1) Crystal is infinitely better, sure, if you like it. It's definitely more complete (slightly more than 55 icons, I'd say). Everaldo's a professional; I believe he was paid for Crystal by Conectiva. I've done jobs before, but never for Linux. It's cool, though.
2) Yea, GNOME strives for photo-realistic icons, like OS X, and these do fall more under that category than they do under KDE's "Cartoonish" motif. In fact, they are currently being ported to Gnome2.

I have to agree with you, but I still like mine. Maybe I'm just prejudiced :) - May 05 2003

Why does everyone always want color? Well, I just added some basic devices (cdrom, cdwriter, hdd, floppy, mp3player), and they're all (except cdwriter, which is red/yellow) in a dark-blue gradient. If these look good, I'll do more colored apps. - Apr 27 2003

The U.S. forgives lots of debt, yea; If i owed the world as much as the U.S. does, I think i'd be pretty forgiving too. The U.S. hasn't paid its dues to the U.N. in, oh, how long? 10,20 years? Of course, it's not like we actually participate, or anything, we just make demands. How odd...And , of course, when threatened with a veto, Bush gives the world the finger and promises to go in alone. Sounds like Vietnam -- You go right ahead and pray for the world, if it makes you happy. What do you want, a global pax-americana? Iraq's already just like us -- They spend more on their military than anything else, their politicians aren't fairly elected, their businessmen are corrupt, and their leader wants his son to take over the presidency...Hell, I live here, and I feel this way, so don't go off on foriegners with your pre-WWI 'diplomacy' - Feb 12 2003
