I provided the download initially as a Dropbox link, but installation would fail silently in KDE's "Get Hot New Stuff" dialog. So, I am providing the links to MediaFire instead so that the GHNS dialog will at least redirect to the webpage. - Sep 06 2012

I can confirm the slow scrolling bug is indeed fixed. I had removed Oxygen KDE for a bit because of the slow scrolling, and I am so happy to have a beautiful Firefox again. Thank you! - Jun 11 2012
Craig has already stated that he's not interested in doing a GTK3 port (since he no longer uses QtCurve himself). Perhaps if he were to set a bounty on the GTK3 port, then those of us interested could chip in to a little "motivational" fund. Whaddya say, Craig?

Honestly, I think a GTK3 port would be truly wonderful, because having Oxygen as the only truly cross-platform theme is a bit limiting. QtCurve, on the other hand, is so customizable, that it helps to make up for the lack of other available KDE themes. - May 12 2012

BTW, if the performance issue turns out to be related to the custom scrollbars, perhaps you could add an option to use the system default scrollbars. On KDE systems with oxygen-gtk installed, the scrollbars will look the same anyway. - Mar 29 2012

Jimmy, you probably don't hear it enough, but I (and I'm sure countless others) am so grateful for the work you've done on this theme. You have done a truly beautiful job! I can't wait to see what your magic can do to Thunderbird. God bless :) - Mar 29 2012

I can confirm this as well on two systems, one using the NVIDIA binary driver and the other using Intel graphics. Since I have a rather fast system, the lower framerate while scrolling using Oxygen KDE isn't a deal-breaker, but it is very noticeable in a back-to-back comparison between Oxygen KDE and the default theme (along with a few others I installed). Having a 100 Hz refresh on my display probably makes the difference even more obvious. Some sites are worse than others, but I've found that the Oxygen KDE website is a good one for testing the scrolling framerate (http://oxygenkde.altervista.org/). - Mar 29 2012

Is there any hope that deKorator will be updated with a fix considering the Kwin team might eventually be removing OpenGL 1.x support from the window manager? In a future KDE version, my laptop might no longer support desktop effects, and I hope I'll still be able to use deKorator at that point. - Feb 29 2012

Found another bug: When composing an e-mail, it is impossible to select text in the e-mail address field. Also, with the default theme, Lightning calendar entries don't fill the full width of the day's column, which allows you to easily add another event at the same time by clicking and dragging in the empty space. In Oxygenate, the calendar entries fill the full width of the column, making this more difficult to do. - Feb 21 2012

Using Oxygen-GTK 1.1.1, detaching toolbars in Audacity causes mouse input (click and hover) to break. This doesn't happen with other themes (QtCurve and Raleigh tested). I have filed a bug report here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279406 - Aug 04 2011

Several years ago I went through over 20,000 tracker music songs, weeded it down to my favorite 600 or so and digitally remastered them all with a tasteful level of reverb fx processing. I still need to find a way to make this collection available to others. - Feb 19 2011
I had trouble too, initially, so I sent a bug report to Craig Drummond (the QtCurve developer) and he fixed it in the latest version. - Feb 19 2011
The main reason Oxygen-Molecule hasn't been updated is that I haven't been using it myself. The reason: the updated Oxygen is very slow with the NVIDIA driver on my system.

For now, I have switched to using the much-faster QtCurve, which can be made to look quite beautiful with a little work. Here is my current QtCurve theme: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=138886. - Feb 18 2011

I don't know that I'd be able to do that. I just made simple tweaks to the existing Ambient theme; I don't know how to do vast modifications such as changing toolbar colors, etc. - Jan 26 2011

This is the best QtCurve theme I've ever seen! I have created a respin of your theme, and I wasn't sure whether you would be interested in adding it to this page or if you would prefer I set up a separate page for it. I don't want to steal your thunder.

Here are a couple screenshots of my respin:

http://img148.imageshack.us/i/curvedominav2scc02.png

The changes:
* Lighter background image
* Alternate progress bar
* Using menus from an older CurveDomina version
* Scrollbars have faint stripes
* Lighter drop shadows (active windows' shadows are darker than those of inactive windows)
* Removed button transparency in exchange for greater definition
* Disabled "force alternate colors" to fix color glitch under Thunderbird.
* Small tweaks here and there - Jan 21 2011

Here's the GTK Oxygen theme current repo - it's not officially released yet, and some features are not ready, but you can test it:

Probably not at this point, considering that there is a project underway to create a GTK version of Oxygen. Soon, Oxygen-Molecule will be obsolete. - Oct 18 2010
There is no project page for it at the moment, but I'll be sure to post the link here when it becomes available. - Sep 30 2010
Hi, I don't have a dark version, unfortunately. However, some far more talented folks than I are currently busy coding a proper Oxygen theme for GTK, so it won't be long before you'll be able to use Oxygen on GNOME with whatever colors you want. - Sep 30 2010
I just asked Ruslan, and he said, "No, current project i'm working on isn't available for download yet - it's just alpha stage. I talked to Hugo Pereira and we decided to merge our efforts in development of full native GTK Oxygen version." - Sep 30 2010
Ruslan Kabatsayev (http://kde-look.org/usermanager/search.php?username=10110111) is working on transcribing the original Oxygen theme to GTK with some help from Craig Drummond (author of the QtCurve theme engine). Craig has also given me help in the past with Oxygen-Molecule. As far as I know, there isn't a page set up for this project yet. - Sep 24 2010
Also to answer your other question, Oxygen-Molecule is dormant for now, because somebody else is working on a proper Oxygen theme engine for GTK. Depending on the progress of this project, Oxygen-Molecule may or may not receive an update. - Sep 24 2010
Hi, Oxygen-Molucule has no impact on the OpenOffice.org KDE integration package. If you prefer to use the OpenOffice.org GTK integration instead, then you will no longer have access to the KDE file picker dialogs. - Sep 24 2010

I am really impressed with this theme :) - Sep 07 2010
In Kubuntu, I use qt3-qtconfig to set the theme for QT3 apps. Does OpenSUSE have this app available? - Sep 05 2010
Wow, QtCurve just keeps getting better and better! I'm using it exclusively now because, among other things, it performs so much better than Oxygen on my system under KDE 4.5.

I have a request: Would it be possible to have the window decoration blend with the background gradient specified in the style, rather than just the background color? Along with that, having the "Blend titlebar color into background color" option blend into the top color of the background gradient would be most helpful.

Thank you for making this theme engine! - Aug 31 2010
That Mac theme uses a simple vertical gradient, whereas KDE4 uses a radial gradient... that is what I am unable to reproduce. - May 10 2010
Wow, this looks great so far! I will plan to design the next OxygenMolecule version around this pixbuf patch.

FYI, I am recovering from a nasty virus, and am behind in work, so I won't be able to get to it right away. - May 01 2010
Never mind my "never mind"... this appears to give me the Kubuntu defaults, not the KDE defaults.

So, I still would like the active window glow settings. - Apr 12 2010
Never mind... found the defaults button :D - Apr 12 2010
BTW, could someone give me the default settings for the default Oxygen active window glow?

TIA - Apr 12 2010
Based on the feedback I have recently received, I am planning to release the next version of Oxygen-Molecule as three themes:
1) Oxygen: 70% shading
2) Oxygen-Cold: 50% shading (same as Oxy-Molecule 3.2)
3) Oxygen-Cold: 70% shading (same as Oxy-Molecule 3.1)

I hope this will appease everyone :)

This will be the plan unless someone comes up with a better (and feasible) idea.

Going once... going twice... - Apr 12 2010
Hmm, I've seen one other person with that issue. What distro & pixbuf engine version are you using? - Apr 10 2010
Yes. Using Oxygen-cold meant I would have to redo fewer pixmaps. I also prefer it to the "Oxygen" color scheme. Perhaps if I get some free time to burn, I'll make a standard "Oxygen" color scheme version. - Apr 10 2010
When I installed Kubuntu Lucid beta 1 on my system, the default shading was set at 50%. So I guess I'm not sure how to know what all of the defaults are. I've had people on here telling me that "Oxygen Cold" is the default, and others saying that "Oxygen" is the default.

Anyway, I decided to change the shading to 50% shading partly because the more extreme shading exaggerated the color mismatches on some GTK apps, and it just made blending in general more difficult.

The change was also partly out of preference. The shading at 70% looked too extreme to my eyes. I actually quite dislike the "Oxygen" color scheme, and "Oxygen-Cold" matches the Kubuntu colors more closely. More importantly to me, using Oxygen-Cold also meant I would have to redo fewer pixmaps from my previous Oxygen-Molecule version.

Also, I don't know what is up with Firefox, but earlier versions didn't have the menubar text issue--seems to have been introduced with Firefox 3.6.

If it didn't take me so blasted long to redo all of the pixmaps, I would make new color schemes in a heartbeat, and then everybody would be happy. - Apr 10 2010
Wow, with all the patches to the pixbuf engine, perhaps it would be worthwhile to put together a custom version. I have no idea how to organize a project like that, but so far I am aware of the following individual efforts:
1) Icon transparency (there's at least two different modifications in this vein)
2) Prelight of tabs
3) Recolorable pixmaps (Craig Drummond hacked this together, but it needs modification. It even reads the colors from the KDE color settings!)

If someone wants to organize a modified pixbuf engine, I'd be willing to customize Oxygen-Molecule to the new changes. I can also provide a list of changes that would really help to make the GTK theme match KDE even more perfectly (gradient handling, etc.). - Apr 07 2010
Hi. Regenerating all of the pixmaps to match the new color scheme would take me hours of work that I don't have time for at the moment.

I did recently tweak the shading amount in Oxygen-Molecule 3.2, which I think looks better, if you want to give it a look.

When I get some time, I'll be publishing my source graphics files so that others can make their own variants on the theme. - Apr 07 2010
If somebody can tell me how to do this with the pixbuf engine, I'll be more than happy to make that change. - Apr 07 2010
Hmmm... I just noticed that changing the focus line setting also makes the buttons and entry boxes 2 pixels smaller horizontally and vertically, which doesn't look as good to me :(

I probably just need to adjust a padding setting somewhere to compensate. - Apr 07 2010
Hi,

Here are my responses to your points:
1. The only way I know how to show the focused widget in all cases is to enable the pixbuf engine's focus line. This comes in handy when using the keyboard to navigate the widgets. With this option disabled, you can't always tell which widget has focus. So, my decision in this case was one of usability over beauty. If you want to disable the dotted focus line, simply find this line in the gtkrc file:

GtkWidget:: focus-line-width = 1

and change it to:

GtkWidget:: focus-line-width = 0

If anybody knows a better way to do this, I'm all ears.

2. I can't find a way to do tab prelight with the pixbuf engine.

3. This is a limitation of the pixbuf engine, but you can download a version of pixbuf that fixes this here: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/gtk2-engine-pixbuf+%28Patched%29?content=77783

4. Another pixbuf engine limitation.

Again, if anyone knows other ways around these issues, I'd love to learn. The only way I've learned how to make this theme is by downloading other pixbuf themes and looking at the code. - Apr 07 2010
Hmmm... I have no idea about that one. Considering the correct icons don't show up when using QtCurve either, I would guess that it's a Chrome problem, rather than a problem with the theme. - Mar 25 2010
Hi Craig,

I'm amazed at the number of new features that you have been adding to QtCurve. I can't keep up with them all!

I have run into a problem, though. Sometimes the text over a progressbar is unreadable. See the following screenshot:
http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/1021/progressbartext.png

The theme in the screenshot is my recent creation, Tenuto-Light, which can be found here:

Thanks,
-~Chris - Mar 21 2010
Your separators do look strange. However, you shouldn't need any other engine--only pixbuf.

A couple of questions:
- What program is that pop-up menu from (or do all of your GTK apps have that problem)
- What OS and version are you running?
- What version of gtk2-engines-pixbuf do you have? I'm running 2.18.3

Thanks,
