i'm sorry, but my english is far from perfect... i can't puzzle out that long, complex sentence. i checked candido themes, but i didnt find button icons, so i dont know what does it mean. can you simplify it? - Jun 24 2006

thx!

first of all i'm thinking about making wider border version because i have problems with resizing too.:) How many pixel did you set to border width?

Secondly, i like the idea of alternative button icons. my personal opinion, that Sloth's icons is a little bit diverse. But i will make it once. Or, if you can use gimp, you can make it easy. See the m1a.png - m3i.png files (3 buttonicon - 4 state), They are transparent pics without the button, just the icon.

About the close button, it was worth one pixel right away, as far as i remember, but i will check it.

So thanks all the suggestions - Jun 22 2006

Hi! there are two way. The first one is to use the GTK adaptive version (rename home/.theme/Almond/metacity-theme-1-GTKAdaptive.xml to metacity-theme-1.xml), than search a black GTK theme. More difficult solution is editing the theme, replacing the default colors to the wanted colors... - Jun 06 2006

i see. because the version, which you use made for mac button style (close, max, min in the left side). rename metacity-theme-1-default.xml to metacity-theme-1.xml in the theme directory. (/opt/gnome/share/themes/Almond/metacity-1) i think.
and it will be right. - Jun 05 2006

Yes, you must change the button order, if you want to use this theme. you can do it in the 'gnome config editor'. see the theme discription.
the all blue button may looks good, but the colors are determinated by the philosophy of this theme :D - May 27 2006

i've already thinking about a version with thiner title bar for smaller laptop displays.
i work on the GTK. i see that many people like this theme (thx the votes), so i don't want to make a lame gtk for this metacity.
Good idea, what you suggested about that. i will remember it. - May 27 2006

well, i don't speak in english natively, (you may noticed that:) i'm not sure that i understand, what is the problem with the shape changeing. you mean focused or pushed state, and shape as relief or the contour of buttons?
the last problem is clearable :). i suppose you mean the bottom outline - May 23 2006

thx the comments to everyone. there are some problems, this is the cause of the version number:)
i experienced the troube of resizing. i've seen once a mac theme with no border. it has inspired me. i know it's useless, but looks good. i will consider it.
the buttons of inactive windows has only one state, because i thought metacity cannot handle this. i will correct it. - May 23 2006

thx! i care of it :)
the 2 thing...
A: its readable in my desktop maybe because i use 11 size font. I set the font size small because the medium size was too large for me. u can change this in the 15th and 28th line of metacity-theme-1.xml. rewrite title_scale="small" to "medium". shall it be the default of the theme either?
B: U thougth the white one is the active and the gray one is the inactive or there were two version?
Because i tried to flip the colors of the active and inactive windows and it was not good, but i plan more color versions... - May 23 2006
