Well thank you!

It appears you are right about 4 of my themes
being at the highest rated first page
at the moment.

That highly suprises me! :D

When I posted my first theme here at gnomelook
I never thought it would get so much dugg!

Thanks again for your kind words man!

If the problem is there only when using
compiz I don't really believe it's related
to this theme!

just install the package compizconfig-settings-manager

(sudo apt-get install compizconfig-setttings-manager)

and change the shadow there or install
my emerald theme I made for slickness
(download link can be found right beneath
the download button for this theme)

Also, thank you for your nice words about
my theme! really appreciated.

hope this helps

if you use compiz then:

in ccsm - general options - opacity

(name=gnome-panel | type=Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu)

and transparency = 80

in ccsm - blur - alpha blur windows

(name=gnome-panel | name=usp | type=Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu)

blur = gaussian
alpha blur = true (checked)

hope this helps!

Thanks again for your compliments!

the glow effect is cause of the emerald theme:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/download.php?content=74813&id=2&tan=35050494

if you followed the install instructions
it should apply the wallpaper, if you installed
with theme manager then you have to manually
load it from
$HOME/.themes/Overglossed/overglossed.jpg

hope this helps!

Wow!

That is unlike any problem I have seen
before!

I have absoutely no idea what could have
caused that, however I don't think it's
a problem with your hardware(it's highly
unlikely)

If you use compiz with emerald you can
try to install the emerald window borders
theme from here:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SlicknesS+Emerald?content=73972

please reply if that works better :)

I don't know, maybe post a screeenshot of
your problem..

re-install the theme....

Yeah that is the userchrome that fixes
firefox with slickness....

to fix simply run:

rm $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome/userChrome.css

and restart firefox...

Now I can't try this atm but if it don't
work just navigate to that directory
and manually remove (and restart firefox).

hope this helps!

Are you sure you followed my install instructions

There is a 0% chance it works if you did not.

If you did , then try :

chmod 666 /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/Slickness.jpg

(do this as root)

if that don't work then maybe 777... if
that don't work then I have no idea :)

Not sure what you mean.....

well the panel (ones on top and bottom) seem
to be working just fine so I suppose it's the
transparency on them you are wondering
about.... you need compiz-fusion for that
(or compiz will do , but I use compiz-fusion)

If you have that installed, sure you have,
just do this in ccsm:

in ccsm - general options - opacity

(name=gnome-panel | type=Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu)

and transparency = 80

in ccsm - blur - alpha blur windows

(name=gnome-panel | name=usp | type=Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu)

blur = gaussian
alpha blur = true (checked)

this will give you transparent menues and
panels :)

hope this helps

As I said I'm currently developing another

changes in this theme for some time..
I know there are bugs but I don't know
how to fix them (yet) so that will take some
time, please be patient!

well it's not just you...

this tux thing isn't anything I have ever
thought of before this post showed...

Now when it comes to mind I too think we
need a very evil tux that looks like he is
gonna "kill bill" ;D

Anyway, the first time I saw the cross-eyed
one I just couldn't stop laughing.... so I'm
perfectly okey with that too :D

Now there I have something to put my mind on!!!

those buttons you made really look great!

But if I change those buttons it will affect
all buttons and not just help and close as
you had marked out.

I am currently working on a completely new
theme btw. If you are interested in testing
I could mail it to you and tell me if you think
it's something worth publicing :)

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 522 comments

Well thanks!!

There are many reasons to why I advice people to install that way... to name a couple:

1. when install with theme manager the
update-manager (in ubuntu) and synaptic
(in ubuntu) and other apps you run as
root will show flat gtk (unthemed) if
installed with theme manager.
(so people will start asking about these
apps why they look different, when
they do it now I just point them
to my instructions... problem solved.)

2. Artist taner has made a fantastic wallpaper
to go with this theme and this is
a good way for me to tell people
how to get it running.

3. As you said this installs for all
users.

4. It really helps me help users when
I help them with problems related to
the theme.

The font is artiz-snap , get it here:
http://artwizaleczapka.sourceforge.net/

Actually, this theme does not support
changin colors.....yet, maybe in the
future if I feel like further developing
this theme.

This is a pixmaps theme, so you can't
adjust the roundess (you'd have to
manually edit the pixmaps loaded by
the theme.)

and no problem. sorry I couldn't make
a more customizable theme!

Hope this answers your questions!

Yeah that was overglossed....

Anyway , there is no option like that,
I had just made some images that where
1280 px wide and had rounded corners and
loaded them manually in the panel settings.

There is no way to get rounded panels
without doing that : - )

If you want to have rounded corners
just edit the panel-bg.png in the
panel folder and load it in the panel
properties.

Hope this answers your question!

yeah the slickness code should be fairly
bugfree now.... the code is a mess atm when
I haven't spent much time cleaning it up
,hope you can make some sense out of it :D.

As for maintaining your themes I appreciate
you askin, I really do, because they are
clearly top-notch!

However I have enough to do with my own
themes and I wouldn't feel comfortable making
any changes to your work whatsoever :)

If you are using ubuntu you don't see the
standard gnome logout menu, but a customized
one, and I am aware of this problem in
at least gentoo , pclos and foresight.

hope this helps!

This theme is rocking out loud man!!!!!!

PS. if you have a panel style with a bgpixmap
for the panel and have something like this

class "*Panel*" style "panel"

then that is most probably the problem!

keep doing what you do! it's great!

You mean that you have clearlooks style on

then please try first to re-download the

(you might have to restart x to fully apply
the theme) ,since that bug should be fixed
in the latest 2.2.1 version. If the problem
still is there please provide info on
what distro and version of gnome you are using :)
