Thank you guys!

As for the conky , so many people have
asked for my conky I will upload it here
on gnome-look :)

The blurry-glassy-effect it has on the
screenshot is fake tho (I edited the
wallpaper for that)

the rounded panel images are located in:
$HOME/.themes/Overglossed/gtk-2.0/panel
folder, they are named:
panel-bg-custom.png
for bottom panel
panel-bg-custom-top.png
for top panel
they only fit with 1280 width screen
resolutions tho.

Glad you like the scrollbars! :D

Menu Screenlet

Conky by Whise 29 comments

This screenlet looks absolutely great!

And I'm probably doing something wrong
(I'm new to screenlets) but when i try
to run the screenlet (robert@ASUS-A6M:~/.screenlets/Menu$ ./MenuScreenlet.py) it gives me something
that ends like this:
AttributeError: type object 'object' has no attribute '__getattr__'

I have the ubuntu package (debian package)
of the screenlets installed (version 0.0.12)

sry for bothering but I just don't know
where to start looking to fix the problem.

Thank you very much for your constructive
feedback man!!

My conkyconfig is based on this one:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/My+Conky+Config?content=62536

I have made some small changes but that
is pretty much the same, if you however
want my exact config I can e-mail it to
you or something.

As for the menu highlight, that would
work(!), but I was really hoping to do
something different this time :D

Anyway, I probably do something like that :)

Thanks!

You know what? You are absolutely right!

I just didn't come up with anything else
at that moment :D

I will try to do something better for
next release!

Thanks for pointing it out tho!

I dislike the menues also, I will
make new ones to next release.

Any Ideas on what the menues should
be like then I'm all ears!

Wow!

that does look very nasty!

I can only search the code for something
that might cause this... since I don't use
xfce myself I can't actually try if it
works, if you have any skills of editing
gtkrc I would suggest you try to do some
"hacking" yourself, I will try to figure
it out but as I said, I can't try it out.

If you do some hacking yourself and
get it to work or work better, please let
me know!

The panel images are located in:

$HOME/.themes/Overglossed/gtk-2.0/panel

I don't remember exactly how I named them

(I made them very fast so they don't look any good)

they only fit with a screen with 1280
pixel width.

that is actually fake....

I just loaded the panel backgrounds manually
(it is an image with the width of 1280
that has rounded corners)

gnome-panel does not support rounded corners.

sry to disappoint you.

As for the toolbar I know what you mean,
this is still first release so there are
a lot of things that probably don't look right.
Thanks for your feedback , I will consider
a different toolbar to next release :)

Thanks!

well thank you!!

Glad you think so! , I'm not really an
graphics person, but if you like what I
did with the wall you might find this useful:

I used the absolutely amazing GIMP!!!

I mainly used only 3 tools (gradients , selections and obviously the blur effect)

with those you can do pretty much.

You shouldn't give up... never!

hope this helps!

If you look a little closer on the third

just click on (in oo) tools -> options ->
view and there select the icons, then appearance
and there fix the color problem.

(the third screenshot explains a lot)

hope this helps!

everything you need to solve the firefox problem
you can find here:

that is an excellent easy to use fix
provided by code933k.

since the menues are supposed to be black,
not white.

Thanks for using my theme!

just extract the archive to $HOME/.emerald/themes

where home stands for your home folder.

PS. If you hit "export" in emerald you will get a .emerald of it.

That is so cool you use my theme!

It means a lot to me when you use it!

If someday, you get bored, you could try
making a wallpaper to fit with the slickness theme
that would become the default slickness
wallpaper, I know this is a lot to ask,
but anyway, if you get bored and have nothing to do...

All the best!

This one is no exception , it's fantastic!

However I do have a question for you.

What font is that you use to draw "TANER" and
"LINUX" in your wallpapers / previews?

It looks kinda cool.

Anyway , Great wallpaper as always, keep'em coming!!!!

SlicknesS

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 522 comments

Thanks!

To edit the menuitem-spacing:

run in term

gedit $HOME/.themes/SlicknesS/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

scroll down to line 1063 where you see
ythickness = 4
change that to something between 0 and 3
,save, then logout and in or restart x or whatever.
You should now have smaller spacing :)

if it doesn't work, I can make them smaller in next release :)

PS, I'll consider different scrollbars.

Hope this helps!

Slickness Black

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 230 comments

Thank you very much!

If you want to use the theme when working
as root you have to copy/extract the
package to /usr/share/themes (with root permission)

so the command would be something like:

sudo cp -r /home/USERNAME/.themes/SlicknesS-black /usr/share/themes

replace username with your username :D

I am at school now and have not tested this command and if it doesn't work
you can always copy it there manually :)

Hope this helps!

GTK2 Themes by TheRob 230 comments

Thanks(!!),, yes I know I am the author :D

The thing is... when I started making this
theme, I wanted the buttons to be the way
they are now but I realized I am not gonna
be able to make that fly using metacity so
the buttons had a space, then when I made the
emerald theme I noticed that emerald is
capable of this... so now I tried to make
metacity too look like that (as requested) and it doesn't
, so if enough people want me to revert back
to the old ones it's just a few clicks...

By the way...

I made a emerald version of it:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SlicknesS+Emerald?content=73972

It has the same buttons (without space)
but there you can see why I made it that
way. Feel free to try it out and tell me
what you think (if you use emerald that is)

Buttons....

A user here asked me to do the buttons
the way they are now, if you like the old
buttons with space, you can use the standard
SlicknesS metacity theme (it is exactly the
same as black) since I haven't changed the
buttons there and I don't think I am
going to :)
