I forgot, that setting a PW on my homepage will have an influence on these files, too. I'll look into that this evening and post a reply, when the download is working again.

I finally accepted, that these name changes make no sense in a single icon theme...

KDM3 Themes by PxPert 2 comments

Hi,
this really is a very nice KDM theme. But since i'm using a 16:10 monitor the debian stuff on the beackground got badly scaled. Perhaps you could provide the background image without the two debian logos?!

cheers - Mar 07 2006
Yes, you're right. This is because of the name changes introduced.

It will be best if you select the superkaramba_mime icon in the file settings menu, instead of the superkaramba_theme (which is the original CrystalSVG one). Same holds for some more icons. I really got annoyed of the non-existing naming convention for the mimetype icons. So I changed everything with _doc _theme and so on to _mime.

cheers - Feb 22 2006
Your second point will also be solved next week. I forgot to change the name of the encrypted mime. If you don't want to wait 'til next week, you have to change the encryted.png to file_encrypted.png for every size of the icon set.

cheers - Feb 11 2006
Ups, I'll look into this. But not before Wednesday of next week. Should be a small missnaming in the index.theme. I changed the names, because I'm using a little modified version of the Crystal SVG icons myself (I'm planning to post this icon set, too. But it'll take some more time, 'til it's finished.)

If you change, the following entries in the ~/.kde/share/icons/consistent_crystalsvg_mimtypes/index.theme everythink should work as desired:

LinkOverlay=link
LockOverlay=lockoverlay

As mentioned above, i'll update the post it elf next week.

Hi,
this is a great app especially since I'm right now struggling with KLaptop, which always shutsdown my laptop even though i'm not running that low on battery.

Do you plan to make it a replacement for the standard Kcontrol module for energy management? This would be really really great. Or don't you plan to make it Kcontrol module at all?

KDM3 Themes by Drakeson 8 comments

Hi,
I like this KDM theme really very much. The only thing, that keeps me from using it, is that there is no matching KDE splash theme :-)

But two other things:

1. perhaps you could make the icons somewhat more consistent. I like each icon on its own very much, but all three icons seem not to fit together. Perhaps making them all the same size would do the trick...

2. I think the curves in the login image are somewhat too much. Perhaps it would look even better if you leave the frame for the login just plain.

Keep uo the could work!!

P.S.: I'm lookin' forward for the KDM-Theme ;-) - Sep 17 2005

Blender mimetype Icons

Icon Sub-Sets by TOD 6 comments

First of all the blender icon looks to 3d'ish. Not meaning to offence you, but all other crystal icons (i suppose you made this icon as an extension of the crystal icon set) look more drawn than rendered. And for me, this is one of the things I like most with (??) the crystal icons.

Second and easier to fix: The font you used does not match the font of the other mimetype icons. It is a font with serifs and this is no good for captions and such things...

Kbfx Startmenu by ATAHUALPA 14 comments

No, since you mentioned making gears would go beyond your design skills, I wanted to point you to the official kubuntu logo, which is available as SVG. And which you could take as a basis for this kbfx-button.

I.e. you could ungroup the official logo, take the blue "ubuntu-circle" with the gears in it and put it in your kbfx-button instead of your selfmade kubuntu logo. Of course you could also use the official lettering of the logo to make it look even more authentic...

I hope I expressed myself clearly this time.

Hi,
I really like these kind of menu buttons. And would also really like to install it, but the style of the original menu is much nicer for me, than this kbfx stuff...

But a word to the gears. Why don't you take the official kubuntu logo (available here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuArtwork) and just use the gears?? No need to do it all by yourself :)

debian firefox dialog

Various Stuff by rufuseddy 2 comments

Just one more thing... To install this about-screen one does not need to extract the browser.jar in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/chrome. It is adequate just to put the file there. Or even better, to rename the original one to something like browser-default.jar and this one to browser-debian.jar and to set a symlink named browser.jar to one of those...

Hi,
to me this looks like a very nice frontend to the already existing package managers (e.g. apt with debian based distros).

But I think you're right. Kind of this programm is definitivly missing in KDE. Since I use Kubuntu there is already some graphical frontend to apt (Kynaptic) with "normal" Debian there is KPackage, but I think some kind of graphical upgrade would also enhance the usability of these programs...
