This thing is awesome! after finally getting it to compile it took a bit of work to get it to work in mdk. I'd make an rpm but i'm sure tex'll find his way over and package it in time. but in the few hours it will take for this to happen here's what i did to get it to work on mdk 9.1:
1) i passed --prefix=/usr to the configure script with this command
./configure --prefix=/usr
and then did make both as a normal user
2) then for make install i did this
su -c "make install"
3) After the make install step i entered this command
su -c "ln -s /usr/share/apps/kscreensaver/ScreenSavers/kslidesavergl.desktop /usr/share/applnk/System/ScreenSavers/kslidesavergl.desktop"
then you just enter your root password so that the command works. Then go into the KDE control center and Voila!
Great work wjarosz, keep it up. - Apr 04 2003

I voted for this and i haven't even used it yet! It's awesome, great, fantabulous, the best ever, i don't have time to compile it now but as soon as i do I'm makin' an rpm. Those suse guys won't outdo us mdk9xers ;-) - Apr 04 2003

I remember something like this being out earlier that just wouldn't compile. I'll try this to see if it works first before voting

you're welcome. I'm surprised it's still showing up above 50%. The religious fanatics started voting it down after i changed the license. I think i'll update the rpms in a few weeks. Till then the faq on the slicker website will give you all that you need to know about downloading from cvs. - Mar 13 2003

i think there's a slickerrc file created in ~/.kde/share/config with all settings and some rc files as well. maybe you ran the as root (after make install) and restarted using a normal user. - Mar 13 2003

you just made a very good point here, because as it stands the license could be BSD or GPL. Well. I guess my little joke is done since i don't want to or have the authority to change the license. Now if only one of those zealots above had pointed this out to me I'd have changed it sooner.
But then again they probably don't even know what the GPL stands for and want to see it there because it's the "linux" thing to do. - Mar 13 2003

I may load fast for you, but for the rest of the universe it's slow and buggy as hell. Konqueror is definitely better than it in all aspects except maybe looks (unless you have the right theme, like me) :D - Mar 12 2003
