Ah shut up... all of you. Those who don't understand anything of world history and political matters are the greatest chatterboxes. Start studying Middle East history at a University before any of you (and first of all you, GNUbie) start talking crap. I, as a professional historian, always get really frustrated when I see that those who don't know anything simply can't keep their mouth shut. Better start reading a book like e.g. Macchiavelli and Platon before giving stupid comments. - Mar 31 2004

... I won't be too harsh. *g* But I will give some comments nonetheless.

My suggestion is quite simple. Take a new tux that has sharp edges. Yours is too blurred. Grab and copy a BIG tux (there are many on this site), resize/transform it, so that the proportions fit into the brain. Once you have the tux on a new layer, lower its opacity, so that the tux is able to "melt" with the background, thus becoming part of the brain. I think that would do the trick. : ) - Mar 23 2004

Well, but I still only see cryptic symbols, if I click on "download". Dunno, if this happens only in my browser or if others also have this problem. Furthermore, if it is only a screenshot, then change the category to "screenshot". Just a hint. ; ) - Mar 20 2004

The orange color is simply disgusting, the lighting is too strong. Aren`t you able to properly use a rubber in order to remove the blue pixels, surrounding the text? Come on, give it another try, smooth down the orange and clean up the pic. ; ) - Mar 20 2004

Ice-WM Themes by Deo 3 comments

This IceWM theme could be really good, if it had some USEFUL colors. Using darkblue on grey is simply unfriendly to the eyes, especially if you have to work with your computer 8 hours a day. Some better contrasting colors would do the trick, e.g. some warm yellow or light blue instead of dark blue. - Mar 19 2004

Is it only your desktop screenshot or what? I am a bit confused, because the wallpaper is the standard "Kraftwurm" wallpaper of KDE, and the download only gives some cryptic symbols in a new browser tab. - Mar 18 2004

KDE Plasma Screenshots by rejctchoir 3 comments

The systrem tray can be made transparent via the control center. In the "look" menu of kde 3.2, there is a secondary folder (I dunno exactly where, as I am currently at work, with Window$ instead of Linux) where you can select the panel-background picture. Just above that, there is the button "make transparent" and below, there is an advanced menu, where you can adjust transparency. - Mar 17 2004

Hmm.. maybe you misunderstood, what I imagined. I simply thought that there are so many aqua-style themes out there, so many osx-designs, why not make a kde unique design, by melting different parts together towards a marvelous overall theme. Okay, it must not be melons... *g*
But someone could e.g. think of redesigning some of the already available great windeco-styles, so they fit with a (fruit) theme and another person could think of a fitting icon theme. I never wanted strawberry-buttons. That would be indeed extremely disturbing! ; ) - Feb 21 2004

but I must say, that you should improve/change some colors. The green from the cd-mount is too bright, try a darker, smoother looking green e.g.. And I would change the toaster-logo for k3b, because it is not so easy to understand (a logo should speak for itself and not being understood after a little meditating) and ...sorry... plain ugly. Icon Sub-Sets by Doches 35 comments

The longer I look at this set, the more I get the impression that the colors (especially the ones of the third preview [folders,...]) are too milky and there is a far too low contrast. This will make it quite unnerving, working with these icons over a longer period of time. Try to implement some contrasting colors on the folders or e.g. the home symbol. How about some sand color for the papers lying in the folder? - Jan 03 2004
