It's not really necessary to wait until the ebuild is official in portage. You only have to rename the ebuild file to the current version number and emerge it. If you want to be clean, you copy this renamed ebuild to /usr/local/portage/app-cdr/k3b and then emerge it. - Jan 24 2004

Hi!

I installed k3b 0.11 yesterday. First I was shocked because of the new theme but then I saw that you can change it in the settings dialogue. I think the old splash screen is much more funny than the new one.
Then I tested the new features like flac support. It's great.

Now I'm installing the new version 0.11.1. - Jan 24 2004

Hi,

this is really the best filemanager for X. I was wondering why this app isn't included in the KDE standard instalation. It's much better than Konqueror if you want to move files etc.
The FTP-support is also great.

The only thing I have to blame, is a bug: Since version 1.30 you can't rename filenames with [ and ] (at least on German keyboard setting with ALT-GR-8, -9). Then you do this, this rename field gets closed. - Jan 18 2004

No. PNGs usually are bigger than e.g. jpegs. That's because they are lossless.

I would love to see flac support for k3b. :) As it is today I have to reconvert my flac files to wav files first before burning them.

It was a great idea to make the background transparent, wasn't it? :)

The nicest thing with transparent pics is: you can change the background colors and gradient every 3 days or so, consequently your desktop doesn't become boring for a long time :).

I can really understand your anger with this site. Though it's my favourite and most visited site on the web there are a few anoying things.

- the problem with the previews
- I would prefer if there was the possibility to stay loginned after closing the browser (e.g. via a cookie)

If you take GPL, you must give your picture away bundled with the GPL license and all stuff with which you made the picture (like the source code at programs which are released with the gpl). So you could take a license like "free" or something like that.

I must confess, I also don't know all these licenses, but what I know is, that GPL is false.
