Polar Night/for Unity

Thanks :)
Sorry I know next to nothing about theming xfce. Maybe you can use window controls (buttons) images from my theme in your xfce theme by converting them to whatever filetype/format xfce uses?

Oh man talk about broken - this site doesn't have a "reply to" option in comments after 3 are posted, it seems :D
Anyway, about Numix under Gnome Shell - I believe that's by design. If you go into the gtk-3.0 directory, and just rename or remove the "gtk-dark.css" file, and then reload your theme, you will have uniform colors.
It's that some apps (image viewer, video..) call for a dark theme, if there is one.
Under Unity, Numix has real breakage with overlay scrollbars... - Aug 30 2014

I know. That's why I want to keep it focused. There's too many themes out there that claim to be all things to all people except they're not. For example Numix is broken under Unity and they don't even care :)
Anyway looking forward to see what you come up with.
Btw client side decorations I believe are themed in gtk-widgets.css

I'd like to keep my version Unity only, but sure it's out there, you can take it and do what you like with it :) - Aug 30 2014

You're using Gnome Shell with CSDs for window decorations and I did not theme that. Like I said in the description, I wanted to make sure the theme work well on Unity, because that's what I use and know. Also the theme probably breaks with Gnome 3.12, that's to be expected. - Aug 29 2014

Well not really, the original theme is kinda dark enough ;)
Though pretty much broken under Unity..
Anyway I have a dark mod of another theme in my github right now, haven't posted it here. It's called Polar Night.

I also don't like all those icons grouped together, but I found for me it was more a lack of visual separation between them that bothered me. So what I do to alleviate my OCD troubles is I set panel transparency to 80-85, then there's a slight color contrast between it and maximized windows.

Also, you could increase the navbar top margin (in line 192) try 2 instead of -2 for instance, and just have more space. But my intention was to reduce the size of the whole addressbar/tabbar system and have more room for browser content, especially on these miserable 16:9 displays. - Jul 16 2014

Thanks :) yep, yep I'm afraid it's Liberation Sans.

As for the FF style, in line 130, change 2 to 1 in "-moz-box-ordinal-group: 2"
However then you may wish to also tweak tab borders, padding, colors, etc.. - Jul 16 2014

Erm meant to type, Ubuntu 14.04 - Jun 29 2014
So I run Ubuntu 13.04, Unity, Gnome 3.10.

As you can see

http://i.imgur.com/8rs7mpA.png?1

the breadcrumb borders (Nautilus) look like thin dark lines, I'm pretty sure that's not what the original Gnome Cupertino had, and plus, if you look at the corners, you'll see like little circles..? I'm pretty sure this is not rendering properly for some reason.
Thanks. - Jun 29 2014
Overall a really nice effort, but I find the very dark borders around breadcrumbs, etc, to be really odd and off-putting.
The original theme did not have them. Is that on purpose? And how would I get rid of it?
Thanks.

I'll do it here: in Ubuntu 14.04 the text and album art area in the sound indicator dropdown are weirdly styled and then when selected, the text is unreadable. - Jun 09 2014

Thanks, I installed a bunch of GTK2 engines in the meanwhile and now the theme renders fine. Ubuntu that I normally use includes all that so I thought Fedora did too.. my mistake :)

The theme is broken in Chrome on Fedora 20 with Gnome 3.12. The default Adwaita, meanwhile, works fine. Am I missing something, an engine, a library?
Thanks for any tips, I'd really like to be able to use this. - Apr 20 2014

I have a question: changing the style for tabs in gtk.css has no effect on the tabs in my gedit, they are dark gray. What should I do? Ubuntu 13.04, btw. - May 13 2013

Orchid style for Kopete 0.12.x

Kopete Styles by rbarillec 6 comments

thanks so much for taking the time to add the variant.
the thing is, and i explored the code before i asked, i can set the color of the text of the message *i* am sending in .message (color...)
that works
color specified in .incoming and .outgoing relates to the color of nicknames, not the text of the message itself
but i can’t figure out how to change the color of the text of the incoming message (that’s also not solved with the variant).
it’s always very dark, #000 i’d say. that’s not the default colorscheme for fonts on my system either, i don’t know where that’s drawn from. with the rest of the theme so subtle in colors i wanted to change that..
also, do you think it would be possible to use this theme with telepathy? - Dec 03 2012

Application Name Plasmoid

Plasma 4 Extensions by ilpianista 42 comments

First, thanks for your work on this.
Second, I run it on KDE 4.9.3 and it works fine. I didn't remove the Kwin titlebar as it's useful to drag and move windows, but i did remove the label text, have some issues with rendering under Emerald. All in all this is very useful in that scenario, especially with the application name option. Great that the font color can be configured, and that there's the "plain" style included. I guess I wish there could be shadows for text, to be consistent with the menubar widget and/or plasma theme text style, but that's minor.
One more thing - i first tried installing this via the destkop, add widgets>download... however no dice. It said it installed, but it wasn't available on the system. Compiled it from source though. - Nov 10 2012

lovely, with interesting to excellent colorschemes :)
i have a few petty objections though :D the raised gradient-looking thing on tabs, it seems out of character with the rest of the theme. i'd prefer it all flat. a notebook style might be in order to better define gedit tabs and such. and foreground is not visible in progress bars, but then again that's likely a feature ;) however all these are easy to fix/tweak, which is what i'll do.
thanks for sharing your work, overall i like it very much. - Jun 25 2011

I voted it up cos I quite like it :) but here's one bug, in Evolution, the highlighted email doesn't change font to white, or light, so it's quite unreadable (both font and highlight being dark).

In all other applications I'm using everything's working fine.
