..are just out of place. The entirely black scrollbar with a slider that can barely be seen against the white is just an eyesore.

The differently coloured buttons don't match the rest of the theme, and the matching buttons need a much thinner and subtle border on highlight.

Apart from the good things - the menus and menubar, the rest is just out to destroy my eyes.

0.1.. Very much so. - Sep 01 2008

Lovely to see this initiative. Looks amazing.

For us who don't mind using excessive amounts of screen estate for these things, would it perhaps be possible to make a variant with greater borders? This looks so good that I want more of it on my desktop. :P - Sep 01 2008

I really like the look of this. Very consistent. A bit too consistent with the scrollbar though, imo. :)

Do you think it would be possible to make it a bit lighter, or just the highlights? I'd really like to be using this, but right now I just can't. - Aug 27 2008

That's not what I meant. Since you are using two images with two panels, one panel will be around 15px or higher, with nothing but empty space, and it doesn't look very nice. Instead, trying the Moomed Ultimatum-approach might work better. With that, there is only one panel, and thus no wasted space. It won't be able to use rounded corners, but it will look nicer as a taskbar. - Aug 25 2008

However, regarding the KDE4-style panel, try looking at Moomex Ultimatum 0.7 and see how it is done there - because it works very well there, without leaving much empty space, which is the case in your theme.

Just a suggestion though. :) - Aug 25 2008

Well, it's one of the better Humanish themes of late. Makes good use of the engine, although I really have no love for it. The wallpaper doesn't match too well, but one can choose not to use it, so..

I do miss some innovation though, for the new release. It's supposed to be an overhaul - and this is just.. Re-arranging, I think.

Still one of the nicer humanish themes though. - Aug 22 2008

I enjoy the icons so far, but can you please find another host for them? Having to click through captchas and ads just isn't a very nice experience. Especially not when there are alternatives, like deviantart. - Aug 19 2008

I don't think we'll ever be able to agree on an entire theme. :P However, this is your best so far, I think..

All these new styles - is there some kind of documentation available for them? I'd like to see if I can put what I think looks better into a theme, so it's not just blurry written things I'd be spewing. - Aug 19 2008

I was a little blunt last time, so this time I'll try actually telling what I don't like - sometimes being productive can be good. :)

Generally, it looks overpolished and overdone, with too many different elements each grabbing too much attention instead of working together.

First, the progress bars are what strikes me the most. Both massive borders and a massive 3d-effekt - I would say tone one of them down. It was what I didn't like in your previous theme, where you used them as scroll bars instead.

Second, the scroll bars here are actually really, really nice. Much more subtle while still showing off the interesting progression of murrine. The double-arrows at both ends are too much though. I'd either remove one at the top and keep two at the bottom, keep just one double-arrow at the bottom, or just use a single arrow in each end.

I like the buttons here as well. I think they will look better if some other parts of the theme is changed.

The reddish top bar doesn't fit very well, I think.. Or perhaps it's the window decoration. I think it would look best if it matched the window in all cases.

Giving a bit of a lighter hue to the check- and radio buttons would be nice as well, I think. It's a bit too dark.

Hope that's a bit more helpful. - Aug 18 2008

I'm not (yet..) too well-oriented in gtk theming, so you'll have to excuse me if something just sounds silly or wrong.

However, I wondered if it was perhaps possible to use that element from the new murrine engine - I know at least the feature is available there. Try looking up murrine symphony - I think it shows what I mean better. =) - Aug 14 2008

Something about them isn't working out. I think it's the fadeout of the arrows - I would either remove the upper border so they become one with the read of the scrollbar, or make a completely solid border around them.

Looks nice, otherwise. - Aug 14 2008

The panel is nice, apart from the hardcoded background. It's the colour of selected menu items that irks me. Black background with dark grey text. Very hard to read for me.

I like the texture, but it has far too many bugs to look very nice. The toolbar and the rest of the window aren't aligned properly texture-wise, for instance.
