Webcam & Monitoring by bwadolowski1 70 comments

Is there a reason that Webkam defaults to png format, instead of jpeg?
Png is great for screenshots and other sorts of computergraphics where image-corruption is easily noticable.
Jpeg on the other hand, is great for real-life pictures and sucky for screenshots etc.
Just took a picture in each format.
The png was 5.0 MB and the Jpeg was 0,16 MB. There is no visible difference.

Just wondering.

I really like what you have done with the 0.3 release :-)
I have two comments though:
1) You need to smile more. (especially when you take marketing pictures ;-)
2 Not sure the startup page is necessary, since it people will want to use the webcam when opening Webkam. However I think it's a good idea to have a tips section.

I like the overall design of thee GUI :-)

Unfortunatly I have a problem with running the app :-(
Just installed the ubuntu package:

It's cool.
How about instead of the checkerboard to make it transparent. Then the users background color(s) will be where the checkerboard is and you can choose color for your self.

Also, it would be awesome if it came it came in a more scalable or larger size.

Karamba & Superkaramba by boralyl 32 comments

If my browser is not already running the widget will freeze and not function again before the browser is closed.

also it's not possible to search for words containing certain danish letters like æg or småkage.

You could think about giving the widget some sort of complimentary colored border so that it's totally visible on all backgrounds.

Beside all that stuff, this is a great widget that has a bright future ahead of itself. - Feb 26 2007

Did you actually take this picture yourself? Or were you granted the copyrights of the original artist?

I highly doubt that this should be released under the GPL, or that ot is even legal that you manipulate it.

Please correct me if this is not the case. Otherwise, don't post more of this kind.
