thanks, this were the main idea. the only problem is still colours i couldn't fix or replace, like on gtkrc (some buttons appears preselected, and some linked texts -but i hope fixing it soon, and even better if i could get some feedback from their original authors) - Aug 12 2010

what you're saying is awesome, because if you have better suggestions for colour schemes, please send .gnomecc files to me (or upload here at gnome-look.org), after testing on this theme - if these colour schemes from you are so awesome as you're saying, i'll replace these screenshots immediatelly! it's awesome being constantly learning more about colour harmony! thank you! :) - Aug 12 2010

The colour choices are up to the users tastes, and the screenshots are only examples showing this possibility, which the original one lacks hardly (specially on Metacity and on the Panel) - this is a hack allowing a better gnome-color-chooser compatibility, not a theme with unchangeable colour scheme. It's extremelly using gnome-color-chooser there, and be welcome contributing with better colour schemes as .gnomecc files here at gnome-look.org ! - please tell me a more sincere oppinion after trying it with gnome-color-chooser! :) - Aug 12 2010

thank you too! i think each window manager (maybe not wm2 or mwm, due on their limitations) really deserves a good amount of colour schemes, or themes made from colour schemes - this is mostly why i coded these converters, and posted them and their result here, and also let dax918, the original author of these colour schemes, know about this! :) - Aug 05 2010

maybe is a good idea to request debianizing of this project - this will help this project being part of Debian and Ubuntu repositories, and helping more people having access of it. - Jan 29 2009

Well, after seeing what KDE4 is, i were betting some lighter window manager based on QT4 will appear - and this project is a proof of it.

But, what i could see, i think it can be even simpler, just like what is LXDE based on Gnome.

Anyway, congratulations on helping a long live for QT4, and helping showing how bloated KDE4 is, and how/where it must be improved. - Jan 29 2009

thank you for all the information! - Arch, from an Ubuntu viewpoint, looks a bit more closer to Gentoo - i hope soon being 'courageful' to try this level of distribution (even using Linux from 10 years, i'm still like a newbie, and still with headaches with stuff like make/configure, etc...) - btw, about all the other links, surelly i'll look at them more carefully, maybe i can get some information for something there (this always happens with me!) =) - Jan 02 2009

You're not yet part of LinuxChix, and they seems to organize so many conferences there in US? What for are you waiting? ;D - maybe you being part of it can lobby to their next conference being at Chicago! =)

I only know Arch linux from its name (how good is it when compaired with Ubuntu, for example?) - and the url you sent us has hundreds of file, and the most similar to 'Arch' is the 'archive' directory there... =(

about assembler, i find myself also stuck into z80 (msx, zx-spectrum) - sometimes i used to do some snippets for emulation, but not much more than this.

I had no idea some people still code on assembler for the more recent operative systems - where from can i see these kind of programs?

Some large applications could be also scripts binded after runtime executables, like this executable have 1mb in size, and the script is embedded after (just like with 'cat script.languagesuffix >> runtime.exe', or like swf Flash projectors... )

a script for downloading directly the colour hex values seems to be not that hard at all

from the url http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/474922/Train_Yard

we can get hex colours from a script like:

wget http://www.colourlovers.com/export/html/474922
cat 474922 | grep Hex > 474922.txt
rm 474922

the problem is the result is plenty of tabs, maybe i'll need to use a kind of text replace (or some more unix sub-commands like grep/awk/cut for cleaning it a bit better)

Well, in situations like this, maybe is not a bad idea (if it is a desktop computer) buying a new hard disk, and having this one which you have the lost mbr as second disk.

About download managers, they were fine for downloading between 100 and 1000 files at once, but 500000? and btw, a console application used to be more fast and stable than a gui-based application, specially on ms-windows... - Aug 02 2008
Ultra pack - 220 color schemes

KDE 3 Color Schemes by dax918 86 comments

i also thought about this as well, a kind of sorter script, or randomizer, or whatever, would allow us to get colour schemes or previews before gettng them - btw, i downloaded all those almost 500.000 that time i still didn't analized them with scripts (like getting html index files for an easier browsing)

another example would be a kind of script would load with wget some palettes from there, and get them as choices for a gui colourscheme... - Aug 02 2008

I also enjoy more making my own colour schemes (http://www.colourlovers.com/palettes/new?lover=nitrofurano), but overally colourlovers.com having half-million available seems to be a very interesting source to 'get inspired'. This script also seems to work fine on msdos prompt, since there is a version of wget available as well, but i have no idea about how can we use for-next in a .bat file... - Jul 25 2008
