The grey is attractive, I'll admit. I like it, though Nuvola's got great colors -- that's one of it's strong points.
It looks like all you've done, however, is desaturate the icons. True, they're greyscale, but it would help if you tweaked the contrast a bit, as most of these turned out rather...solidly grey. Just a thought.

It builds, ok? It's a problem somewhere with, oh, one of a dozen things.

Do you have the kde dev packages?

Do you have the correct version of GCC?

Is your path sane?

Did you run the ./configure script? (?)

If so, did it succeed? If not, post the error.

You say make died; can you post the error here, so we can make a decent attempt to help you? Just flailing about and screaming "It doesn't work! (!!)" pretty much guarantees that no one can help you, since we don't know what's wrong. - Jul 10 2006

I'm pretty sure that KDE uses the "core" icon for core dumps (When a critical program crashes, and linux "dumps" a copy of memory into a file for debugging). Apple traditionally uses a bomb icon for program crashes, so I think we just kinda adapted it. - Jun 25 2004
