Hi,
As deciare said, the ShowWindowsFromAllDesktops option is for the taskbar, not the pager. If it is on, then the taskbar shows all the windows. If it is off, then it only shows windows in the current desktop.

No, we really don't want to re-invent the wheel.

We just want to create a (hopefully) cooler kicker.

Also you can see that KSmoothDock and kicker are different in some principle design issue, for example, we replace the running task button with (smooth zooming) icons.

Moreover, we will re-use code whenever possible, for example, the "show desktop" feature's code is borrowed entirely from kicker.

Hi,
Sorry about this bug.

If you have used a previous version, you won't see the KMenu. In this case, delete (or rename) the directory $HOME/.ksmoothdock/menu, and restart KSmoothDock. KSmoothDock then will create a new menu directory with KMenu in it.

- Edit Prefs should run KWrite with the config file opened. Could you check if KWrite is working properly on your system?

If we update the screenshots frequently, that would take too much CPU I think. One solution would be only taking screenshot when we iconify (minimise) a task.

Hi,
Please try to remove ./ksmoothdock directory in your home directory and run the program again. Because the configuration file has changed considerably between the two versions.

About the bug, I'll try to fix it soon.

About the flickering, yeah, flicker-free is the most important feature of this kind of program. However, the flicker you mentioned is caused by resizing and moving the widget, so at the moment, I haven't figured out how to solve it yet.

1) 2) These features will be implemented in future version.
3) As this is graphic-intensive, it will surely take some CPU power. However, it is usable.
Btw I'll try to optimise it further.
4) You can change the border color so it fits your wallpaper better.

What is your system? In my system (PIII 850MHz) it runs fine, and it doesn't take much CPU power.

Btw, this v1.0 is the initial release. You're right that it should be called v0.1, but I just prefer calling the initial release v1.0. - Jun 12 2003

Sorry about the make errors. In fact this is the first time I use autoconf/automake/KDevelop so I still haven't fully understanded them yet.

Thanks genneth for pointing out the config cache problem. I have updated the source package with the one generated by KDevelop now (no config cache ...)

And sorry about the large packaging yesterday. I have updated it with a *.tar.gz sources package now.

About your comment on the background bar feature, in fact I intended to implement it. However, at the moment I haven't figured out how to do it technically (after reading KDE API documentation). I'll try to incorporate it into the next version.
