Just tried it in Cinnamon (2.0 on Mint 16). Better. It looks like it's now dark text with a light gray shadow. That seems a little weird, but it's definitely a lot more readable on dark backgrounds. - Mar 21 2014

One small gripe: Looks like it (deliberately?) does not have the window buttons. I'm using it with the borders for MediterraneanDark in Cinnamon/Mint 16. - Feb 14 2014
I might like the tabs to stand out a bit more, but it's better than I expected. It goes especially well with the old "Ultimate Gnome" icon theme (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Ultimate+Gnome?content=75000 ...and here's hoping someone will adopt that classic icon set and bring it up-to-date.) - Feb 14 2014

I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 (latest). I'll see what I can do about Screenshots. The test below the icons was light gray and tended to be hard to see in dark area. (Like I said, I got the impression that only the shadow portion of the text rendered.) - Jan 24 2014

I'll try it in Cinnamon when I get a chance (still have a live CD at home). I've kinda switched to Ubuntu. FYI There are similar issues seeing the desktop icon text in Unity (almost looks like only the shadow is being rendered???) - Jan 24 2014

When used with Cinnamon, the text for the desktop icons was plain black (would be a problem with dark backgrounds) rather than the typical two-color scheme. (White with black shadow; black with white outline, etc.) Could Cinnamon be supported in a future update? - Oct 01 2013

Neat to use this icon set in Cinnamon. The install script is a bit dated (puts them in /usr/local/share/icons instead of /usr/share/icons). Can a package be made available as a pre-rendered directory of icons, or as just SVGs? (...assuming most modern desktop environments can handle SVG icons...) ...in other words the same sort of package that most other icon packs are? - Sep 30 2013

Could there be a release with the different themes as separate cursors instead of "sizes?" Some of us don't have the ability to choose the size. (That at least affects Cinnamon users.) Also, the control for changing the size isn't intended for changing the theme, it's intended for changing... well... the size. =) Nice job and looking forward to updates. - Sep 24 2013

The 0.12 version appears to work fine on Cinnamon 1.8, even though it is GTK 3.6. One issue (don't know what other desktop environments it might affect) is that the icon text is plain back and hard to see against a dark background. Any way it could be made as bicolor? (Maybe black with a white outline or vice versa, for example?) - Aug 10 2013

...but viewing the "breadcrumbs" on Nemo (the file manager) in Cinnamon 1.8 the text does not contrast well against the background. Not sure if this applies to Nautilus or to other Nautilus forks. In Nemo, you can switch between the location text field and the breadcrumbs by pushing the "return arrow" button to the immediate right of the location field. (Nautilus uses CTRL + L ; Both Nautilus and Nemo should default to showing the breadcrumbs.) - Aug 10 2013

I like it so far. Running on Cinnamon (with the options invoked to show these) it appears to need icons for: Computer, Home, Network, and Trash. Also looks like the following apps could use Plateau icons: Eclipse, Liferea, Chromium, Thunderbird, and Rapid SVN (at least until git runs svn out of town). - Aug 06 2013

I know that you bill this as being "Only for Ubuntu" but could I ask you to see if you can make it work on Cinnamon 1.8 (Mint 15)? There are issues with certain buttons not having the right background behind text on certain dialogs (Cinnamon System Settings; logout dialog; etc.). It is otherwise a very nice theme. - Jul 02 2013

One minor issue: This applies to Nemo in Mint 15 (Cinnamon 1.8) and might also apply to Nautilus or any of its forks. When I select the Location field, the only indication that text is selected is that it changes to a bolder black but otherwise keeps the white background (To see the location in Nemo, Nautilus, and friends, hit [CTRL] + [L]). I can tell it's selected, but it's very subtle and I don't think it was intentional. Is there any way for it to be the normal black-with-blue-background when text is selected? - Jun 05 2013

Excellent set of icons. Circles are a nice break from the many square themes. In Chromium (using Mint 15/Cinnamon & Gnome-Cupertino-Mint GTK Theme) the tops and bottoms of the icons are cut off on the buttons. Anything that can be done about that? Also, how about an icon for Liferea and other newsreaders? - May 29 2013

...but it does need a few tweaks. When a desktop icon is selected, the text is white on light yellow. That also tends to happen using Calligra (Yeah I know, that's not GTK). Eclipse and Netbeans have a few issues as well (hard to explain, but it wont take long to download either for a try). Make a few updates and this will sparkle. - Mar 08 2013

It's like an updated version of Clearlooks. The only changes I'd suggest: When used on Cinnamon, the text for the icons is dark, and that doesn't jive with dark backgrounds. Any way to make the text white with a black outline? (...or vice versa?) Would it be possible to have the stripes in the progress bars moving? - Mar 01 2013

Looks like the real problem is that the root level folder in the archive has a name that is automatically hidden by Linux (and any other Unix OS). Try giving it the name "Vintage" instead of ".customized1". Also, right now it shows up in the desktop theme selector with the name "(Customized)". - Dec 01 2011

This is a personal preference I'm having an issue with, but I'd wager there's probably a few other people who feel the same way.

When the "Agua II" style (or any other "Max-Rounded" style) is selected, certain lists will have the default or currently selected item underlined. It's especially visible in system settings and configuring QtCurve itself. I recognize that others might want it... --with that said... errm... I _HATE_ that @#$%!-ing underline. In fact I _really_ hate it... ...and I've searched up and down in the config to find some way to turn it off. Is there a way to make that underline go away? Thank you. :-) - Nov 22 2011
