Aha. Well the image seems far more impressive seeing that everything was created in the gimp. I assume you were attempting to do something akin to painting with the gimp.
Krita, the KDE image manipulation program was actually made with this sort of thing in made (and comes with suitable filters, oil paintings, etc.)
Maybe krita would be better suited for the type of thing you're attempting, but good work nonetheless :-) - Dec 31 2006

Mountains by oMasta0 3 comments

say anything, but you asked for it.
As soon as the preview came up I had to vote this pic down, it was that bad.

It starts off fine (with the clouds) but then you hit the mountains and have a wtf moment. The image looks like a patchwork of poorly put together clip art. The trees especially look very tacky.

There needs to be more seemlessness between the individual aspects of this image and a better select of stock images. Also, if you're going to have trees there give them some more perspective. The ones closer to the mountain should be much smaller.

Why is automake 1.9 required for this? KDE compiles with 1.8 and I swear I'll never install another version of autotools as soon as KDE ditches autotools.
The only other thing I'd want to compile (mplayer) doesn't use atuotools either. - Oct 16 2005

Two words: ew and ew. I'm not too fond of the gradient. Actually, I really hate it. I think it detracts from what would otherwise be a pretty ok (in the second screenshot i'd dare say awesome) theme. I didn't vote for this either way, but like I said, the gradients make me not terribly enamored with it. - May 02 2005

RevRedux

Cursors by Vyse 16 comments

...with your cursors.
"i wasted 3 COUNT 'EM T-H-R-E-E hours reinstalling, setting up and other wise messing around with my linux box because of cursors.
CURSORS! CURSORS! A bloody cursor theme! Three hours, a reinstall, because of what? CURSORS!
The POS theme is the RevRedux theme from Kde-look.org. Avoid at all costs. Or at the very least recompile before using it. I'm not sure if that'll help because i'm never using that bloody theme again.
For those wondering the problem was that anytime i type ANYWHERE the page/app/browser that i was typing in would crash. Be it MCC, rpmdrake, kwrite, konqueror or nautilus. I finally figured it out a couple of minutesd ago. I created a new account and everything was fine, then i started copying stuff over from my other account and it started happening again.
I traced it back to the .icons directory where i was using guess what theme? that's right, revredux. i changed back to yellowdot and everything was great."

I posted that at mandrakeusers.org (as fubar::chi) after using your cursors caused any windows i tried to type in to crash. THis started happening only after using your cursor theme. It happened with kde 3.1.1 and kde 3.1.3 (i never used 3.1.2) - Sep 01 2003

go to the control center > look n feel > background. Under the background tab is one called mode, click on the mode and go to background program then click setup.
