With your last version the subdirectory of themes are correctely copied but the parameter THEME is not updated in the /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash file to the theme selected ????? ( SUSE 9.3 )

Circunvention use Yast to correct THEME value

Suggestion :
It's possible to include an option to remove a theme directory..
