Did you upload a screenshot? kde-look does not create thumbnails from wallpaper itself, it needs an image uploaded as a "screenshot". You can upload the same wallpaper as a sshot. - Sep 13 2005

This theme is AWESOME! I installed it on my laptop (had to modify the wallpaper to make it 1280x800). It looks sooo great

Did you make this wallpaper? What programs did you use to create karamba pixmaps?

I'm waiting for the complete set. BTW, could you provide sources for some graphics? I'd like to create my own karambas (a button for opening home dir for example) that would match this theme. - Aug 31 2005

A nice color combination, though I doubt that's easy on eyes. I wouldn't stare at it the whole day :)

About KDE looking too windozish - yeah, that's the problem. It has some config dialogs at the first start telling users to set their preferred look'n'feel. There should be more options (like color combinations, etc), so there will be nothing "by default". - Aug 21 2005

Hmmm... Seems that configure script cannot find where your KDE is. This happens quite often. You should do the following:

I am happy to know that the project is not dead. I've been using lipstik since the first release - since then it has much matured and has become IMO the nicest-looking widget style for KDE. Keep up the great work!

P.S. All gentooers that have older lipstik ebuilds in their overlays can do the following:
-->8---------------------------------------
cd [portdir-overlay]/x11-themes/lipstik/
cp lipstik-x.y.ebuild lipstik-1.2.ebuild
ebuild lipstik-1.2.ebuild digest
emerge lipstik

KSystemLog

System Tools (NOT OS or ROMS) by lastnico 117 comments

Hi! This is a nice app, but...
When I launch it (as root, to be able to read /var/log/messages), it eats ALL my memory. First RAM, then swap, and then my computer becomes unresponsive at all (when kernel tries to find something to kill I think). It also uses 100% CPU. I don't know what's causing it, but it's not good at all. If you need further info (KDE version or kernel version or something) just ask. - Jun 21 2005

Well, the Galactic Empire and M$ hava many things in common

Both try to conquer the universe
Both use dirty techniques
Both use lies and propaganda ("Get the facts: why slavery is better than freedom")
Both of them will fail

The difference is that the Empire produced high quality equipment and software, and their technology was advanced. - May 22 2005

It's strange - I've never seen so many M$ praising artworks appearing in a short period of time for about 2 years. Now we have this, and windoze 2000 splash, and soon will have "Praise the Empire, Praise the Bugs, Praise the Monkey Boy"... This is disturbing.

Well, it's easy:

Right click the kicker
Select "Configure panel"
Navigate to the "Appearence" tab
In the "Panel Background", check the "Enable transparency" checkbox
Click the "Advanced options" and select the amount of tint (to make the kicker transculent rather than fully transparent)

This would be nice for the users, but not for the developers.

How many distros are out there? Gentoo, FC, Debian, Mandrake, SuSE, Ubuntu, Yoper, ARK, AltLinux, SourceMage, Linspire... If the devs decided to make packages for all the distros, they would have to have a copy of all distros installed. They would also need to know how to create RPMs, DEBs, Ebuilds, Spells and other types of packages. This would draw the attention from adding features and fixing bugs in the source (as all packages must be tested before they are released).

IMO, the distros should care about creating packages. - Mar 27 2005

Hmmmm... It looks nice, but why can't we disable the animation effect? I don't like it at all (as it gives no functionality). IMO such an option would be nice (In Winslows, you can disable animations if I am not mistaken - haven't used it for a long time).

Another question: where did you get that green arrowdown icon? It's not in the source tarball (and there is no such icon in the Cezanne iconset - the iconset I use). COuld you please include it (or better, replace it with something not-so-XPish).

Other than that, great work! - Mar 27 2005
