I'd be curious to see how you were trying to use this. Do you have a copy of the file with that usage that didn't work? I noticed there was nothing commented in your current download as to what you were trying to do. If you can, send me an email with it attached or stop into IRC tonight after 5:30pm EST.

When going into a right click menu on a superkaramba widget, it gives off a 'Bus Error' and crashes the widget you right clicked on. Just a heads up, but it keeps me from using this on a regular basis.
Nice job btw.

skSeti

Karamba & Superkaramba by p0z3r 12 comments

There's a problem if you don't execute this in the skSeti directory, for example via the superkaramba dialog. To resolve this, copy the executeSeti.sh file to someplace in your PATH(ie /home/you/bin/).

As far as the highlight goes, maybe you could use the widgetMouseMoved() to figure out what your mouse is over and highlight. There is a way to make it more efficient, just let me know if you need help. And for the middle click, well it's button 2 in widgetClicked(), and the scroll of course is separate, button 4 and 5.

SuperKaramba

Karamba & Superkaramba by ageitgey 320 comments

It was installed most likely in /usr/local/kde/bin/superkaramba.
If you open a terminal and run 'superkaramba' and you get errors, then /usr/local/kde/bin/ is not in your $PATH. I would look up how to set your PATH to include that directory. It involves editing your .bash_profile or .bashrc file in your home directory.

iLaunch

Karamba & Superkaramba by p0z3r 63 comments

This is about the third time I've seen this happen, in general. It sounds like the superkaramba executable can't find your modules. You can try going into python (ie type python in a terminal) and then see if the 'import string' gives any errors or just returns to the prompt. The latter is good of course. I might have to setup a suse 9.0 install and see if I can reproduce this error, as I use mandrake. It was tested on both mdk 9.1 and 9.2.

I use xmms, evolution, aterm, kate, and a few others.. and it works just great if you have a wheel mouse. Only one icon with all that access while you scroll your wheel. Plus drop files onto it and it launches them.

Karamba & Superkaramba by p0z3r 63 comments

I just realized that you did a ./iLaunch.py
That is not correct. It should have been:

That will produce the debug information I was referring.
Try that and get back to me please.

Karamba & Superkaramba by p0z3r 63 comments

I think that your hunch is right. Something is missing in your python install I believe. You could try running python from a terminal and try typing in something like 'import re' or 'import os' to see if they work.
My Mandrake 9.1 box has python 2.2 installed, and it was tested on another box that is Mandrake 9.2 with python 2.3. Both worked without problems.

What folders are you referring to? Icons are normally generated by the application that is added. For example if you enter the application as 'gimp', it would look for gimp.png in your current used icon theme or the specified directory that was selected for your icons.
Hope this sheds some light, but please let me know if I'm way off from what you were referring to here. - Jan 22 2004
Seti Karamba Theme

Karamba & Superkaramba by whitewolf 7 comments

My initial work is very simplified. It reads the Username, Progress, Number of units completed and Percent completed of current work unit. After looking at the k seti spy page, there is a lot more that can be put into this, so sure I would like help.. or offer help to you. Either way. It's hard to test b/c of the downloading work unit situation though. It can only be tested once every two days or so, thus why I haven't released mine yet. =c(

You have some nice design ideas. Even without a gradient, it still looks very clean and innovative. Hopefully we can get this idea off the ground for ya. It would be interesting to see what the kde devs think about your designs. I'm interested in looking into helping implement this as well. Although I haven't done a windec before, I have coding experience and could probably figure it out.

Small workaround would be to go into where your icon theme is and copy over konqueror.png to kfmclient.png.
I was thinking about the best way to add this into the question dialogs, but I didn't want to have so many things required to go through just to add another icon. So, I'm still looking into this and should have some way to do this in the future.
Glad to hear that you like it so much! - Nov 23 2003
