There should be a "Buttons" bar at the top, then select "Use custom titlebar positions".

The window decoration thing is normal. The configuration should be under the same area. As far as the missing nvidia logo, you might have a KDE icon. That's the download I used. Otherwise you may be using custom titlebar positioning.

first off, way to go - very nice work. a couple suggestions, the text in the title bar seems like it wants to be a couple pixels down farther. your download link's screenshot seems like the upper right corners could be a bit smoother. also, thanks for showing me that horrendous red icon "Root Directory" on your screenshots, I'll fix that in my next release (nice icon choice btw). lastly, once i see your release i'll make some color-schemes blending your deco with my graphite/lime sets. look like they'd be good together.

I think its a little harsh on the eyes. However if you darkened the background to present a greater contrast foreground/background wise, brought the text size down a notch or two, and faded those borders a bit, it'll improve. A little constructive criticism for you.

I notice just the 128x128 size right now - I created a simple shell script to go into the 128x128 directory and create sizes of 96x96, 72x72, 64x64, 48x48, and 32x32 in their respective directories if this will speed things up for you - let me know -

Smooth Akua OS K

KDE 3.x Window Decorations by ntesa 54 comments

Installation is rather straightforward on various Linux distributions, red hat can be tricky as KDE is not installed in a standard place. First, after you have downloaded the theme in tar.bz2 format, navigate to the directory you downloaded it to from a console or terminal window. In my case, I put it in /home/maitre so I open up xterm (KDE users ALT-F2 "xterm") and type:

cd /home/maitre

this will change your current working directory to what was specified. After that, type

tar jxf kwinsmoothakuaosk-0.9.tar.bz2

That will extract the file into kwinsmoothakuaosk-0.9.
From here, cd into the new directory (we just learned this command, I'm not repeating it :)
and type,
./configure --prefix=/opt/kde3

NOTE: /opt/kde3 is the directory KDE is installed on SuSE, I believe Mandrake uses /usr/local/kde3 but I'm not positive. So if you're not using SuSE replace /opt/kde3 with what you need.

Then just type,
make
which will compile the style. Now type,
su
and enter your root password. Then type,
make install
which will install the style.
This is known as CMMI (configure/make/make install) concept of installing "tarballs"|source packages. A lot of styles and themes and even windecs use CMMI methods of installation. Any questions, I'm willing to help all the noobs :)
